We stayed in this hotel for three days in January. 2012. We took executive room and it was good enough. The hotel itself was nice. And location is perfect. It's located in a very quiet place and just 5 minutes by foot from Grand Place. Our room was spacious enough. Hotel has a parking for 6 cars. We took a car in Belgium and we booked the parking space in advance. Of course the hotel has some shortcomings. We couldn't found bathrobes in our room. We asked the reception for it. And we were surprised when they asked us to give a passport as a deposit. We had never seen it in any other hotels. We refused to give them passport and argued with them much. And also we couldn't find slippers in the room. We asked reception again and we've been informed that slippers had been finished. So, finally we asked for the hotel manager and promised to write a review about this matter. Finally we found bathrobes and slippers in our room next day without any deposit.
But in all the other matters hotel is good and location is perfect. We liked this trip and we suppose to return to Brugge sooner or later.

A group of 5 couples booked this hotel for a New Year break in Bruges, based on its 4* rating, its location and its price (expensive but not ridiculously so). My wife decided to upgrade at short notice: probably a mistake, as the extra room size and facilities didn't warrant the price hike. (For a superior room in a 4*, she expects extras like dressing gown etc, which she didn't get: the luxury seemed to consist of an impressive chandelier.) The hotel staff could not have been more helpful or friendly: the problem is that there simply aren't enough of them. At check-in we were encouraged to leave our luggage in an unlocked room out of sight of reception, with no security whatsoever: just as well we weren't old and frail, since there would have been nobody to take them to the room (no bellhop etc, just one poor overworked receptionist). Worst of all, none of our rooms were serviced until late afternoon, which meant we couldn't come back for an early afternoon nap (as far as we could tell, there were only 2 maids trying to cover 50 rooms). The hotel has a nice bar area....which doesn't open until 19:30, and is then staffed by the single receptionist who has to nip back to her desk whenever someone books in or needs assistance..it was all rather Fawlty Towers. One plus point: excellent breakfast. When we tried to see the manager on our last day, we were told he was busy at a sister hotel (which may explain some of the above). This hotel could be so nice...but not the way it's currently run. Certainly doesn't deserve 4 stars.

Room Tip: Probalby best to ask for a room in the main building (see other reviews).

This was a special birthday treat for my wife. We arrived at 2pm and were shown our room #204 (official check-in is 3pm). The room was at the front and quite a lot smaller than we expected for an executive room. the hostel and bar were directly opposite and only a few mteres from the bunk beds - keep your curtains closed if sheepish. There were ear plugs in the drawer and we thought the worst! The road traffic was not too bad. However we slept ok and the noise was minimal until 2pm then we were awaken. There were guys standing outside the bar drinking, smoking, shouting and talking loud until 7am!!! we had to use the ear plugs. The breakfast was good and plentiful and the general cleanliness of hotel high standard. Like the other reviewer the reception staff doubled as bartenders and service was too slow so we went elsewhere.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper then dont sleep at the front near the hostel.

We stayed at the hotel from the 4th to the 7th of January 2012 as a 70th birthday trip. The hotel was well situated for the centre of Brugge. The public rooms were beautiful and the breakfast was superb. Our room (302) left much to be desired. It was very small and cramped. The overhead beams, trusses and overhanging eaves made traversing the room extremely difficult. The bathroom, although beautifully appointed, was under the eaves and the shower was therefore unusable. This could prove extremely problematic to anyone who has difficulty getting into a bath. On arrival in the room, we were greeted by the previous occupants dirty linen!! All in all, a very disappointing stay and consequently, we will not be going back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you do not get Room 302!

I had read a number of reviews mentioning the hostel opposite and so requested "a quiet room at the back of the hotel". They were as good as their word - however, please note that there is the hotel proper, and then what appears to be a converted garage beside the enclosed car park hotel behind the main building. The room itself was fine but it felt somewhat anti-climatic to walk into the grand entrance and then be escorted out the back and through essentially a mini-car park to our room - not romantic - but I got what I asked for, so can't complain. The hotel itself is delightful, in a great location and the breakfast substantial and open late, a big plus. The bar looks fantastic but the girl behind reception was doubling as the bartender and so service was a bit slow!
I would come again, but next time request a room at the back of the main hotel itself!

Room Tip: Request a room at the back of the main hotel itself!

We stayed for 4 nights from 29th December and found this hotel great from start to finish of the stay.

The staff were very helpful and showed us to our room immediatley and had taken on board our request for a room at the back, although to be honest the street was not noisy and nor was the hostel, which just looked like a nice busy bar.

The room was lovely and very comfy with english channels on the tv which was great.

The breakfast room was lovely and nice enough food choice and the location of the hotel excellent!! And a lovely touch was free umbrellas to use when it rained!

Definatly reccommend this place for a lovely, comfy stay in bruges

We stayed at this hotel as part of our mini honeymoon on the Eurostar and was combined with a few days in a '5 star' hotel in Brussels over New years.

The (not so) 5 star stay at the Conrad in Brussels left us a disappointed so we were looking forward to our trip to Bruges.

We weren't disappointed, we arrived at the hotel to a warm and friendly welcome and checked into our room.

Our room was quite small but nice all the same, very clean and comfortable and the decor was good. Good room facilities (including free wifi) which you would expect and although on the main street, we had no problems with noise.

The hotel has a small gymnasium and has a lovely sauna and steam room facility which is kept immaculately clean.

The hotels location is very close to the Grote Markt and the touristy areas but is quietly tucked away from the bustle.

Breakfast is a buffet style served in the orangery overlooking the hotel garden and was nice. The small bar served drinks that could be enjoyed in a number of large lounge rooms.

The cleaners were in and out of the room whilst we were at Breakfast and cleaned to a high standard.

Bruges is a great city to visit, it's clean, has lots of culture, shops, restaurants and cafe bars.

The Peellaert hotel is a perfect place to stay, has good facilities and very friendly staff (It should be noted that Nikita was a great member of staff).

Maybe the '5' star hotel we stayed at in Brussels should take note.

Room Tip: We had no problems at the front of the hotel but rear is away from the main street.
