“Lovely Place and friendly welcome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

We stayed four nights with one couple in the Vanilla Room and one staying in the Grey-White Room. We very much enjoyed the location, but it was the friendly welcome from Hilde and Tania that made our days special. We can highly recommend to stay here and would love to come back one day!
Many thanks!!!

This was our first trip to Bruges. We love to stay in smaller guesthouses and B&Bs and Number 11 sounded like exactly what we wanted. We stayed in one of the attic rooms. It has tons of character with exposed beams. The bed is really comfortable. Great to have a bath and shower too. We were given some great tips by the ladies who run the guesthouse on restaurants and bars to try. The breakfast was magnificent and the fact that I have to avoid dairy foods was no problem, they were more than happy to help. Number 11 is just by one of Bruges' canals and only a few minutes walk to the Markt. We would definitely stay here again should we return to Bruges, perhaps in winter next time.

We stayed in the suite that overlooks the garden for 5 days. Our hosts Hilde and Tanya were warm, friendly and welcoming. They were happy to provide us with recommendations for lunch and dinner, none of which we found disappointing. The suite is spacious with a separate lounge area and a small kitchenette. No cooking facilities, but plenty of fridge room for drinks and snack food. The bedroom was immaculately presented. The bathroom has a large bath and separate shower. Breakfast was served in the garden. There was plenty of variety and the quality was excellent. Centrally located and close to everything.

We had a really perfect weekend in Brugge and we stayed at Number 11 Exclusive Guesthouse. The building is beautiful and the staff Tanya and Hilde make you feel very welcome and look after you perfectly. The rooms were beautiful and the breakfast was really nice, continental with small bowls of fruit and freshly squeezed orange and eggs anyway you want. The staff will help you with maps and anything you need to find and also recommendations for restaurants or sightseeing. We all loved it and will hopefully return again soon!

Room Tip: The grey/white room is in the attic if you cant do stairs well then choose the lower rooms.

My lady and I had seen "In Bruges" the film a few years ago, and became interested in visiting Belgium if or when we traveled to Europe. In 2011, we made the decision to start planning. After some research, it turned out that Number 11 was one of the locations used in the movie as well (at a rather suspenseful point in the film). That intrigued us more, and thank you to my lady for that find. Our travel to Europe to took place in July 2012. *** Note: To submit this review, I had to select a travel time, but it only went back to September 2012). *** Our stay at Number 11 was timed to include my lady's birthday, and the experience there was wonderful. We arrived 7/19 and settled in for a little while before venturing out into Brugge. The hosts were terrific - accommodating, friendly and helpful. We stayed on the second floor. The room was very comfortable - not crammed in any way, good air circulation, and the bathroom made us both jealous compared to our home setup. Belgian chocolate treat packs on the pillows were a good touch, too! Number 11 is in reasonable walking distance of any places to go in Brugge. After settling in, we asked the staff about places to go and so forth, and Hilda made us a reservation for the next day - my lady's birthday - she believed was good for us. She was right. The next day, my lady's birthday, it began with breakfast served at Number 11. It was among the best we have ever experienced, and certainly affected how we approach it now. The next day's breakfast was extremely close, but it's hard to top the first time. After touring around Brugge (a great experience for another story), we picked up snacks, cheese and sparkling wine at a location recommended by Hilda, and enjoyed those wares in the outside garden patio area of Number 11 later that day. It was perfectly safe to assume this was a great birthday treat for my lady, too. As stated earlier, the restaurant was worth it, too. We were able to get an outside seat in audio range of the concert playing in the center of Brugge, and enjoy everything we consumed. During our stay, we also met a few nice couples vacationing from there from other parts of the world, and we chatted with them at each breakfast. It was not easy leaving the Number 11 or Brugge as a whole, even though our next stop was Brussels, We want to return to Europe someday, albeit not certain when, but we would return to the Number 11 if traveling into Belgium. We will never forget our stay there. After returning from our trip, I tried but could not locate the Number 11 listing on Trip Advisor, and at other points to write this review; hence the delay and and my hazy memory of the names of the other staff who worked at Brugge 11. Despite that, thank you to all the staff who made our stay there terrific and "one for the books".

Room Tip: The stairwell to the upper floors may pose a challenge to those with mobility issues. However, there...

A real treat of a guesthouse, in a central but quiet location, perfect for exploring the wonderful Bruges. We stayed for 4 days in the chocolate room, which was lovely and spacious.

Excellent accomodation and facilities, beautifully presented and a warm welcome from Carine and Hilde.

Thank you for a perfect stay!

What a wonderful stay we had here. The host was so nice and accommodating and they went out of their way to work with our schedule and allow us to check in early. The room was clean, comfortable, and luxurious and the location was outstanding.
