Bed and Breakfast Lut and Bruno Setola

The Satola Bed&Breakfast ([--]) where we spent four nights in August 2006 is a great place led by absolutely delightful hosts.

Situated in a very quiet street in spite of its direct proximity to the city center, the Satola B&B actually is located to the second floor of a very neat dwelling belonging to a designer and his very friendly wife. Immediately you understand she likes receiving tourists and informing them as much as they want about everything in brugges. A such sense of hospitality is to be highly estimated.

The room are very modern, clean, spacious, very well looked after. The breakfast is the best seen within three weeks spent in Belgium: you can come from anywhere you'll get what you would like for breakfast. And last but not least Lut lets you know what previous guests have appreciated in Brugge restaurants (just ask for the corresponding guest book).

I chose this B&B after reading the glowing reviews here and I wasn't disappointed. It easily lived up to the praise - its one of the best B&Bs I've stayed in and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Its all about simplicity: the modern, elegant, spotless room and ensuite; comfy beds; the fantastic, huge breakfast; and the charming hosts who are attentive and yet respectful of your privacy. Lut is a wealth of information and can provide useful tips for eating out, sightseeing, shopping, day trips, and history.

The location is perfect too - close to the Markt (main square) and yet in a blissfully quiet street away from the crowds.

Don't bother looking anywhere else for a fantastic stay in Brugge.

With so many glowing reviews, it's hard to know what to add. The owner Lot is every traveler's dream. She is helpful but not intrusive, and gives valuable advice on how to see this beautiful city.

The atmosphere of the interior is clean, simple, and serene. The b&b combines modern and antique in an artistic blend. The location cannot be beat: a quiet street just a short walk from the main square.

This truly is one of best places I have ever stayed.

The Setola B&B has to be one of the very best in a beautiful city filled with hotels and B&B's of every type and budget. Getting something as nice or better for less money would seem impossible. Your host, Lut Setola, is as charming and knowledgeable as the day is long, knows Brugge extremely well and blends the proper respect for her guest's privacy with a willingness to help select restaurants and points of interest. We rented 2 of her 3 available rooms for 4 nights and I can report that both were beautifully styled, with comfortable beds and fine bedclothes. The bedrooms were spacious by European standards as were the baths. The breakfasts were copious and diverse and Lut provides a shared refrigerator with bottled water, sodas, etc. supplied on the honor system, but fairly priced. Negatives? Perhaps the lack of in-room phones, which makes booking restaurants or checking on museums more difficult and the climb up several flights with loaded baggage to reach the rooms. However, the owners are so spectacularly friendly and warm, as indicated by the many other reviewers, that any complaints seem like carping. In addition, the location, a very short walk from the Markt and Burg (two town centers), is perfect, in this, one of the most aesthetic and romantic cities in the world.

Best B&B I've ever stayed in for a few reasons: 1) Great, modern decor. Some B&Bs can be so tacky (you know what I'm talking about, teddy bears and brass beds). This place couldn't be more tastefully decorated, it was so modern, airy and comfy--fluffy beds, great big windows, a sun-filled bathroom with skylight. 2) GREAT breakfast. 3) Good location. 4) Really great prices. 5) Absolutely spotless. They were doing some construction while we were there in June but I'm sure it's over by now.

These photos don't really do the place justice, with our junk all over the place, but it's really quite nice.

This B&B has a great location and an excellent host. Lut certainly knows how to make each guest feel welcome and had plently of maps and information availble to help you make the best of your time in Brugge. The only downside - is the three flights of stair to get up to the rooms. OK if you're fit and without much luggage. The rooms are very clean and spacious, however, the walls are paper thin so you need to be a sound sleeper if the other guest speak above a whisper. We would still stay here again.
