“Fantastic hosts, lovely room, close to everything!”
Reviewed January 7, 2014 via mobile

Having arrived by plane from Dublin and then bus and train to get to Bruges we were glad that the the walk to Villa de Raisins was short and sweet. We were greeted by our host, Geert, who promptly offered us a refreshment and then provided us with a map of Bruges outlining some of the must-see sights, giving some of his own recommendations.
The room we were in (Nuit de St. Georges) was incredible - beautiful four-poster bed and a jacuzzi in the bathroom!
The B&B is a two minute walk from one of the gates leading into old-town Bruges and about 10-15 to the main square (depending on how distracted you get by the stunning gingerbread houses!).
We were lucky enough to spend NYE with our hosts, Geert and Carine, and what a wonderful spread they put on for us! Geert used to be in the catering industry and this is very strongly evident in the plates he put before us (and matching wine!). Breakfast was extremely generous, and who thought dessert was part of breakfast?!
We had a wonderful stay and couldn't recommend this B&B strongly enough.

We have just returned from a two night stay in the VdR in Bruges. We highly recommend staying here for your visit. It is located outside the tourist centre (a good thing!) but a pleasant and straightforward walk into the city. The hospitality is fantastic, Geert especially. Attentive, but not overpowering, gives just the advice you need (especially the walks off the tourist tract). Breakfast was excellent and had lovely little unique elements. It is a small B&B so you do hear some noise from other rooms, but the location is SUPER quiet otherwise. A beautiful home.

But what really won us over is the attention to detail: Excellent in room lighting (finally someone does this right!), belgian beer on arrival, minibar extras, extra pillows and TP stocked in room, beautiful flowering orchids in the rooms... Really well done.

We will stay here again if back in Bruges.

My wife and I wanted a overnight visit to Bruges and opted for this hotel. It was an excellent choice and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others. The host/owner was extremely helpful and pleasant from the moment we arrived to departing the following day. The room was very comfortable and provided everything one would need for both short or long term visits. Breakfast was freshly made by our host and it was excellent. Sitting just outside the city district it is cheaper than the main hotels in the centre of Bruges. Nevertheless it is still within easy walking distance to the main attractions. It’s possible to book the owners garage for safe and easy parking, which is an great advantage to this hotel. If you are considering a visit to Bruges you won’t go far wrong staying here!

This was the last night of our 5 day tour and we arrived about 11am giving us a day to explore the city. Geert welcomed us with coffee and cake, gave us a map and some useful advice. The garage parking was very convenient and our room "Chateauneuf Du Pape" was delightful. Breakfast was typically continental with eggs any way you prefer, but Geert and Carine also provided little tasty extras for us to try which was a lovely touch. We would have loved to have sampled some local beer or wine on their picturesque patio, but sadly time didn't allow...........maybe next time!

The word “perfect” comes up over and over again in these reviews, and I have to agree. Convenient to the train and city center, it’s a charming residence, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and ideally matched to the romance of Bruges. Geert encouraged us to come sooner than our intended check-in time, the better to enjoy a local festival, and what excellent advice it was. We’d also intended to leave at an earlier hour but were happy to linger over the yummy breakfast. All three of the rooms are gorgeous. Enjoy!

After reading reviews of this BnB on Tripadvisor I wasn't disappointed. We came in from the rain to freshly prepared coffee and a map of Bruges and Geert's sound advice on what to see and where to eat on our first visit to Bruges. Carine wasn't around but not to worry we were in Geert's safe hands. Rooms were spotlessly clean, bedroom and bathroom had a nice outlook. Breakfast was contintental but plentiful and delicious. We had dinner at a little bar/restaurant a few doors down from the guest house (one of many recommendations) as it was still pouring down with rain and as promised it was a small but tasty menu.
I cannot recommend this BnB enough.

Room Tip: We were in the chateauneuf de pape room but I don't think you would go wrong with any of the roo...
