“100% Met my expectations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

A while back i had prepared a trip to Brugge and had spotted this hotel as my preferred stay (for what i could read adn compare). The trip was decided impromptu a few days before departure and i found myself lucky to be able to book and at a very reasonable price.
Perfect location across from the canal and central for any suggested walks through town. Next door to many main museums and landmarks.
And lovely hotel...
Every room is different so difficult to guide other readers. I'd say go by the various pictures. Our room is not pictured, i am sorry i did not take some shots... it was on the 2nd floor, i suppose an 'entre sol' as the ceiling was not high. It was large and decorated to my taste with woods and white linen. Touch of light blue. Very warm (temperature wise also) and cosy.
Bath and shower, perfect linen (bathrobes/slippers must be requested from front desk...).
We really enjoyed the salon and fieeplace. It could 'use' more seats, as everybody rushes back from touring under the rain mid afternoon... but we could enjoy our drinks in front of the fireplace.
The hotel is very clean throughout and decorated with very good taste.
We did not try breakfast, as it was not included in our package and is quite expensive (25 eur). We preferred a tea room, they are found all over town.
The staff was very amiable.
If you come by car, the private parking is a bit pricey (25/night) but so convenient! if you are lucky you may find parking right in front of the hotel.
There seems to be quite a few very nice hotels in Brugge. I only know this one (now) and certainly recommend it.

Great hotel, very clean, nice staff, amazing location, room has 4 * equiptment levels, free use of pool and turkish bath, free use of umbrella's. We would have used more hotel facilities if the price wasn't so beefy. Parking is 25 Euro per night!!! so we parked at the station or outside for marginal costs. Breakfast was 25 euros?? crazy! Go down the road and get a bacon and eggs, bread butter croissant, orange juice and coffee for 7.5 euros.
Overal be prepared to pay the earth for everything in Bruges! Belgium on the whole is about twice the price of everything in the UK ( maybe not London)
Horse and cart 39 Euro, canal trip 8E, Main meal 30 Euro, Beer 7 euro.

A great eat out was De ART restaurant just two mins from the main square, fresh food, good value in comparison with everywhere else we ate, Always full, so book in advance!

Avoid the the bilboard places saying 17 euro menu etc, they just serve food from frozen or from cans and charge crazy money for it. disgusting.
One in particular was La Source round the back of the main square, We chose the menu 3 ( plaice fillet and potatoes, soup, and desert.) Translates into frozen breadcrumb fish thing, cold tinned potatoes, asked for tartar sauce and got charged 3 euro's for it! Waiter was rude when i complained, desert was a blob of cream??? 4 meals = 127 Euros, rip off!!!!
Oh and many hide the drinks menu's becasue the prices are huge!! De Art though was half the price and loads better! and don't hide anything from you.

Room Tip: use trivago to get best prices, or olotel. Booking direct was very expensive unless you aare happy t...

Positives, nice location, beautiful room (238 exec suite) , lovely lavish decor.. Thats it. Negatives, the female girl checking us in was in jeans and barely even made eye contact. Mini bar in room consisted of coke and water. Basic!! The after hours bar person who served us drinks was clearly annoyed each time we ordered drinks as though it was an effort to come in from what he was doing else where. He didnt try to chat with us once. , And when your buying port at 10 euros a shot you would expect a degree of customer service. When we walked into the bar another british couple were already in there actually commented on how rude he had been with them. An effort to smile is how they put it. The staff in the hotel need to cheer up a bit and take a leaf out of the Orengeria Hotel across the road where we went for dinks, the customer service was second to none in that hotel and if we came again i would book there instead. Not a 4 star hotel in my opinion. Just OK

We have yet again retuned to our favourite hotel in Brugge, only to find that that the staff continue to stay on top form, from the warm greeting, helping to take our bags to the superb room and the breakfast staff attending to our every need. The bedroom never fails to disappoint as the hotel itself and the facilities are the tops. Location perfect and do not miss the breakfast!!!!!!!! We will return.

Stayed there in September 2012. Couldn't get canal view room but was not disappointed with our room at the back overlooking a courtyard. Our room had a delightful balcony. We spent little time in our room as there was so much to see and do. The hotel's proximity to everything, its facilities and its helpful staff make this hotel a must

Room Tip: Canal view rooms look enticing but don't be put off if they only have back rooms. Rooms 144 and...

Hotel Tuilerieen is a great find. Sensible in every way from the breakfast, to the room and staff. It's perfectly situated. Many smaller hotels in Europe can feel cramped and old. Hotel Tuilerieen was certainly old, but it wasn't dated or cramped. Bruges in general seems like a great 2-3 day excursion, and Hotel Tuilerieen is the perfect stay.

Room Tip: Every room a different. Just ask.

Every room is different and has its own personality. Famous film was filmed in the streets around this hotel and the most famous film star stayed in this hotel. Food attention to detail were both five star. Stayed in room at the top.....enormous and great bathroom.
