“A breakfast to die for!”
Reviewed April 5, 2011

I was treated to 3 nights in this exceptional hotel along with my husband to celebrate my 60th birthday. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was excellent as we had a separate sitting area with a 2nd TV, but the big bonus was a private patio area in which to enjoy the sunshine. The enormous bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was fitted with his and hers sinks along with a double ended bath and separate shower enclosure, the toiletries smelt divine. But the breakfast, well...... I didn't know where to start. Should it be the fresh fruit, cold meats, cheeses or hot buffet along with eggs cooked to your preference. The choice of freshly baked bread was extensive and was so tasty. Then there was the pastries and home made chocolate spread which I tried to convince myself was healthy. But the piece de resistance had to be the largest chocolate fountain I have ever come across, it was mesmerising and totally irresistable. We found the staff most courteous with nothing too much trouble for their guests. I would love to visit this beautiful City again and would have no hesitation at staying at this hotel again.

Super location just over the river/canal from the heart and squares of Bruges. Service was outstanding and the breakfasts were of extremely high quality with a massive choice to eat (There is even a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit should you so desire!)
Stayed in a deluxe room not in the main hotel but behind down by the rear gates. Very impressive accommodation with almost a full lounge and a great big bathroom. It really did feel like a home. Perhaps would have liked to stay in the main part of the hotel though as the electronic gates banged against the wall whenever anyone came in through them,so not great if you are a light sleeper. Apart from this though it was superb.

There is a small indoor pool (I mean small), so with more than 2 in it it felt a bit uncomfortable, espercially if it was a couple.
There is a bar with an open fire which is really welcoming (even though it is a gas fire)
along with an area of photographs of the famous people who have stayed there.
All in all superb and would be my choice again if returning.

Room Tip: Stay in main part of hotel

My wife and i have just return from our second visit to the Hotel De Tuilerieen, having visited before in 2008. We thoroughly enjoyed our last visit and always promised ourselves that we would return at some time....Well we did and we certainly weren't disappointed.
The staff at the hotel earned our praise before we'd even arrived. On our previous stay we got engaged and thought that it might be nice upon our return, to get the same room we stayed in on our last trip, particularly as we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary. This was a particularly beautiful, and very spacious room (334) on the top floor and on the corner of the building, consequently it had windows along two sides and a fantastic view out over the canal and towards the Belfort. The package we'd booked was only for a standard room and not for one with a canal view, however the staff at the hotel replied to my, rather hopeful, emailed request for this room within a matter of hours. They promised to reserve the room for us and welcomed us back for our second visit.
The Hotel was everything we remembered. Elegant, stylish, beautifully furnished and in a fantastic position. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to the room we'd asked for. It clearly had a recent makeover, although it retained all the charm which we had remembered. The very spacious bathroom had recieved a complete refit and was now very modern but immensly stylish, with a huge freestanding sink and a bath practically deep enough to swim in.
The hotel staff were very helpful throughout our stay, booking trips and restaurant tables for us, and all seemed very friendly.
The breakast was excellent and is served in very elegant and ornate surroundings. There is a very comprehensive selection of food on offer, with hot options cooked to order, and all the food of a high quality. It is worth noting that, not withstanding the excellent standard of the breakfast, it is quite pricey if your paying for on top of the price of the room. Thankfully we had it included in the package we'd booked, although that's not always the case, and I believe it's in the region of 25 euros per person if taken seperately.
We have nothing but praise for De Tuilerieen, and thoroughly enjoyed our second stay. Everything about the hotel is of the highest quality and the staff make you feel very welcome. We've stayed at several different hotels in Bruges over the last few years and generally the standard of them has been very good, however, if we were able to choose, this is one we would go back to every time.

Our second stay at the Tuilerieen was just as delightful as the first. This hotel just gets so many things right: Friendly but professional staff, excellent use of a fascinating and beautiful building, large rooms decorated with style, a great location close to but not on top of everything and a breakfast that is worth the trip alone.

We found this hotel on Trip Advisor and it had excellent reviews. We were not disappointed when we selected it as part of an AA 3 night break. The location is good, being just over the canal from the busy city centre and its an easy walk to all the sights. The canal boats go from the canal just in front of the hotel. The taxi from the station is only Euros 6 and the train connections from Brugge to Brussels only take about 1 hour. There is no need to take a car, as Eurostar and Belgium Railways are first rate. The staff are attentive and speak excellent English - essential as only Flemish is normally spoken in this area. Eating in the hotel is excellent value and the breakfasts are the best that we've found in continental Europe.

Stayed here for one night (unfortunately couldn't get in for our second nights stay) and it was marvellous! Room wasn't ready until half past 2 but they had a lovely intimate bar area where we relaxed and read the papers in front of the roaring fire. The location is fab as it's just a couple of minutes walk into the main squares and the view from the front of the hotel is beautiful - straight onto the canal and facing Martins Orangery. This hotel is also next door to the Den Dyver restaurant which is well worth a visit (but you may have to book in advance). Our room was brand new (apparently the hotel has just extended into the roof, so we had a lovely view from out attic windows) and absolutely pristine. The staff were marvellous and even had a concierge who was extremely helpful. Would definately stay here again. And Bruges is beautiful too.
