Nice Hotel in an old city palace. Centrally located and well appointed. Big rooms with antique furniture. Beautiful romantic and remote Garden. Professional and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet could be more opulent.

My husband and I visited Bruges over Christmas and were very satisfied with our stay at the Hotel Jan Brito. About a 15-20 minute walk from the station, it's brilliantly located - on a quiet street but only a few minutes away from the main squares. We stayed in a Knights Room and whilst it wasn't huge it was totally fine for a few nights - with lovely high ceilings and a good bathroom. The service at this hotel was excellent - everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. The free wifi was powerful and always working. Breakfasts were pretty good - with hot and cold selection served in a pretty room. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the christmas lights were stunning, and the bar is reasonably priced and very comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to return and would really recommend Bruges at Christmas for a romantic, relaxing break.

The staff are so welcoming upon arrival of Hotel Jan Brito and they inform you everything on offer during your stay in Bruges. We were even given a booklet of vouchers too so that we could get a little extra back whilst seeing the sights. Having said that, we actually avoided being 'proper' tourists and just made it all up as we went along! However, if you're a hardcore tourist, there's plenty to see and do so you definitely won't be disappointed.

Once we were handed our room key we were guided to our room. It was a stunning standard double and was oozing 'history'! The bathroom was huge and the whole place was really cozy and warm. It was the most comfortable night's sleep I've had in a hotel for years! Super-clean too! I could go on and on but I don't want to bore people, haha!

In conclusion, Hotel Jan Brito gets top marks for cleanliness, friendliness, location to the main centre, value for money and sheer enjoyment! I've already recommended it to a friend who is soon to book a romantic stay in March.

The perfect hotel.

We had a 3 night stay in this beautiful refurbished hotel. Bruges is an old, quaint and special place and this hotel matched the feeling of the whole city. We had a cozy, comfy and clean room with exposed wood roof beams. We stayed here for Christmas and it made our stay very special. Staff were very helpful recommending restaurants and making reservations for us. Make sure you try out the small pub round the corner

Room Tip: Ask for one on the top floor.

We have stayed in this hotel in summer 2012 and decided to stay again this year purely down to the whole experience....
Rooms.. we stayed in 16 and again this year... lots of space.. nice big bed and decent bathroom...
Staff.. are super friendly and always happy to help and point you in the right direction for a nice meal or if your after good nightlife! They couldn't be any more pleasant then the blonde lady we didn't catch her name but she's so helpful and always so welcoming.
Breakfast... faultless.... good choice from cooked breakfast to fruit and yogurt
Overall it's a top hotel for reasonable prices we will be back...

We have just returned from a birthday break staying for the first time at Jan Brito. The breakfast is excellent and the staff we superb, nothing was to much and they are a credit to the hotel we stayed in room 35 and 36, 36 has a double aspect and is quieter facing the garden 35 is on the road side. I personally did not like the lift which is on the outside of the building and I took the stairs instead. The rooms are compact but good decor, good finishings and very hot water. TV has no digital but you do not travel to bruges for the television. Mini bar was good as was night bar staff, we would definitely consider returning.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden room

Jan Brito is situated about a 20 minute walk from the train station and about a 5 minute walk to the main square where the Christmas Markets were. We were in the Knights room which is situated within a courtyard. It was fairly big but narrow so difficult to store luggage. It appeared to be a restored medieval room which gave it a great feel. It had a great sized bathroom and bath, comfy large bed. The room was serviced daily. It is situated next to a powered sliding door and lift and smoking point which caused some noise/smell. The electrics of the room was finical - we managed to blow fuses/trip the power twice. Breakfast was a decent spread of continental options. The hotel is a good location to all major attractions. It is a magnificent town - really worth going to. We did a day trip to Brussels and Ghent from here - about a 30 minute train ride.
