The reviews make it seem like this hotel is quite far from the centre of town. In fact it's only a 5 minute walk. The fact its "Just" outside the centre is quite nice, the restaurants and bars are slightly cheaper (the hotel bar was cheaper than in the town. The hotel room we were in was large, clean and well furnished. We weren't facing out onto the street so did not suffer road noise. The walls however are quite thin! But someone was having a good time anyway! Car parking on site is extremely limited, needs to be booked in advance and costs €14, but there is an underground car park (the cleanest I've ever seen) just around the corner at €12 for 24hrs. I would have no hesitation in going back. I haven't given it 5 stars as I didn't use the pool so cant comment on it.

My wife and I have just spent a very pleasant weekend at this hotel.
Location
A very pleasant ten minute level stroll through the very picturesque old town and you will find yourself in the market square.
Room
Our room was tucked away at the back of the hotel overlooking the terrace, I can't say we noticed the noise from people smoking on the terrace that another reviewer reported. The room was an average size, as clean as you could wish for, equipped comfortable chairs and a very comfortable bed.
Staff
Polite and helpful
Food
We only had the included breakfast which offered a wide choice of cold options and a more limited choice of cooked options - there is a 'cook your own' egg boiler, it takes a good 9-10 minutes to soft boil an egg so you may want to put them in first.

I would find it hard to fault this hotel, if I was to be ultra picky I could say it would have been nice to have an English news channel on the TV but its absence did not really detract from our enjoyment of the stay.

Nice, accommodating staff. I stayed a little longer than I should have and the room started to feel small. But it was very clean and Brunch was great every morning!
It was stumbling distance from the centre of town (the historic centre) and very close to the irish pub!!

BTW: there is no way Brendan Gleason could have jumped off that bell tower and hit where he did.

We visited Bruges on a short city break with friends. Our room at the Flanders Hotel was on the 2nd floor at the rear of the hotel which was quiet with good facilities. Beware the small lift with no inner safety door, however, that did not stop me from using it. It could be a problem where unsupervised children are concerned. The stairs are convenient and an easy alternative as there are only two floors. The overall stay was excellent in line with other positive reviews. One ‘hidden’ surprise was the ‘City Tax’ payable on checking out, which was €1.95 pp per night. Our booking agent had not informed us, otherwise everything else was fine.

Room Tip: Chose a room away from the ground floor and preferably at the rear of the Hotel.

This is an absolutely wonderful hotel. The staff are so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and bright and very quiet. If you choose this hotel I would recommend you add breakfast as its certainly value for money. If you fancy a drink at the hotel go during happy hour as its really cheap. Can't wait to return.

We stayed at the Flanders Hotel for just one night, so we could visit a sick friend. The hotel was very close to their apartment and had its own car park, so was ideal for our purpose.

The Reception staff were very welcoming and, when we had checked in to our room, we went to the bar for a refreshing drink and found that Happy Hour had just started. In fact, this was two hours every day from 16:00 to 18:00 hrs, when a lot of the drinks were half price. The hotel is obviously very popular at this time of day, as the bar was quite full and the atmosphere really good.

Later in the evening we went to the bar for a night-cap and sat in the lovely, squashy armchairs in front of the fire relaxing. It was very cosy on a stormy night.

Our room was smallish but had a big, comfortable bed and a good sized bathroom with bath and over-bath shower. Tea and coffee-making facilities were provided.

There was an indoor swimming pool, but we did not have time to use this.

The breakfast was really good, with an excellent selection of meats, cheeses, breads and pastries. There were also scrambled eggs and lovely crispy bacon.

For anybody visiting Bruges to do sightseeing, this is an excellent hotel about ten minutes walk from the centre.

We booked through Great Escapes - mentioning we were visiting Bruges to celebrate out Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The hotel staff were really friendly and upgraded us to one of their 4 suites. This hotel has a good location , with onsite car parking and a bus stop right outside. The breakfast was more than adequate, with fresh coffee served. I would recommend Hotel Flanders and will certainly be back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not on the road.
