Lovely little central hotel, ten minutes walk to the centre of town, It is basic but clean and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast is very basic but it is fresh and plenty of food so you wont starve.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in early October. The hotel is in a perfect, central location and yet is only a 15 minute walk from the train station. The owners Danni and Reuben were at all times friendly and helpful. Our room (budget) was more than expected and for the price point was excellent value for money. A continental breakfast was served each morning downstairs and although I chose to stay in bed for an extra hour, my wife was very happy with the choices and quality of the food on offer.

The one and only negative is the lack of air conditioning at the property which unfortunately was compounded and exacerbated by the number of mosquitos in Bruges while we were there. We had room 103 which as I have said was lovely but it overlooked a frequented road and small town square. The consequence of us enjoying such nice weather at this time of year was that the room at night was very warm causing us both to wake through the night, drenched in sweat. The last night we had had enough and decided to leave a window open which had a mosquito screen. This certainly kept the room nice and cool but then we were woken early by the traffic which we could live with but more annoyingly, we were unfortunately both covered in mosquito bites :(

All in all we had a great stay in beautiful Bruges, which Incidentally should be on everyone's bucket list for a short stay, an absolutely magical place. The Hotel Biskajer ticked almost every box and if we were to return in Winter time, this hotel would be my first choice of accommodation all day, every day. However without AC in the warmer months coupled with the mosquito issue; I'd hesitate to book again until the rooms are upgraded.

Quaint hotel in a great location. Friendly owners were very helpful. Exactly what we needed - nothing fancy or overpriced, just a good quality hotel with comfortable beds, a decent breakfast, and in the center of it all without being noisy. We would stay again.

Welcoming hotel just minutes walk from the main areas. Unobtrusive but attentive service, good breakfast constantly replenished, spotlessly clean, good recommendations for eating out and very quiet at night even with the window open. We were a group of 3 couples and without asking they had arranged for us to have a table together at breakfast and rooms adjacent.
Take a taxi or bus from the station just because a wheeled case on the cobbled roads is not comfortable. (approx 7 to 8 €)

My wife and I stayed at the Biskajer from Sept 25 - 29 2013. The location is perfect, just a few minutes from the main square. Danni and Reuben look after their guests really well, and have high standards with regard to cleanliness, and are extremely polite and welcoming. One real advantage is the lift (elevator), not common in smaller hotels in Bruges, and we appreciated this having a room on the top, third, floor. Our room was cleaned really well each day, and we enjoyed the various animal shapes our chamber maid made of the hand towel left on the bed, a nice personal touch. The breakfast was fine, with some really good fresh bread each morning. We took a travelling kettle, which we would recommend, as there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, as is often the case in smaller European hotels.

Room Tip: Room 301 was a nice big room.

Biskajer Hotel is lovely and romantic in an old-fashioned kind of way. It is in a quiet area of the town, but just a 10 minute walk to the main square. You can hear are the bell chimes in the morning as you lay in bed.

The staff are professional and friendly.

We really liked the deep bath, the heated towel rack (great for drying hand washing :) free wi-fi and the variety folded hand towel animals that were on our bed when we came back.

Breakfast is average, but who needs a fancy breakfast, when you have all that beer & chocolate waiting for you?!

We would recommend for couple who want some old world romance!

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the facing the square, on the corner and three plus floors up. There is a lift.

When booking our trip to Bruges we looked at many different hotels but kept coming back to this one, and are we glad we did!!! From the moment we set foot inside the door Dany and Ruben made us feel like we were the only guests. The hotel itself is lovely and clean, rooms are beautifully decorated. the added touches like the towels being folded into different animals everyday is a lovely treat. The bathroom is a decent size and again spotless clean. Continental breakfast every morning, with a range of fresh breads, pastries, fruit, jams.....etc! Great way to get you started in the morning.
The location of the hotel is excellent, 2 minute walk from Market Square, The Belfort and the main shopping streets yet in a quite and relaxing area by one of Bruges many canals.
We plan on returning to Bruges again in the near future and will hopefully get to stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 201 which looked to be one of the bigger rooms. I recommend any room ending in 01.
