“Very pleasant stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2014

We stayed here for one night while visiting Brugge and we were very pleased with our choice.

We arrived a few hours before the checkin in and we were pleased to know our room was ready so we didn't have to wait. The staff is very friendly and helpful they gave us a map and explained us where to go and what to see and also a voucher that we could use for most of the local attractions. Also the location is great very close to the train station, city centre and all the attractions, including the park, the brewery and the horse carriage spot.

Room was big, modern, ours faced the back garden so therefore very quiet. We were to tired to wake up for breakfast but did make it in time for the checkout as they charge an additional 10€ for every hour. They were happy to keep our luggage there until late evening so we enjoyed another full day in the city.

Room Tip: I would choose a room located in the back as the main street is always busy and tends to be noisy

We stayed here for 3 days and the rooms were clean and cool (aircon) , the staff were friendly and the breakfast had a very good choice . they also have a bar which was not too expensive . Your about 10 mins walk to the center so close enough to walk , but far enough to avoid all the "tourist" restaurants and bars that over charge . Be aware cars and buses cannot part near the hotel so you will have to walk with your bags about 5 mins from the parking near the Novotel .All the streets are cobbled so bring good walking shoes. No restaurant in the hotel but plenty to eat and drink nearby

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the internal courtyard as opposed to the main street

Stayed at this hotel during a city break with Riviera Travel. Excellent location close to the center of the old town and restaurants. Spotlessly clean room with air con (essential as temperatures were in the high twenties during my visit). Pleasant dining room with good choice of cold and hot breakfasts. Staff very helpful. Would certainly use this hotel again.

I was advised to book in here due to the hotel's close proximity to the major sightseeing spots in the city.
It is also within a comfortable walk from the rail station.
The room and furnishings were spacious, modern and spotless.
The bathroom included a bath and shower.
Although we were in a room opposite the adequately equipped gym we did not make use of it.
We were on a beer and bar/pub tour so this convenient facility was not needed by us.
I have read good reports about the bar area, but did not make use of this either.
As many visitors are from the UK,I would suggest a BBC or Sky news channel be incorporated.
Although tea, coffee and sugar are supplied ,milk is not.
This is an item that would enhance the staying experience.
The convenience of it's position was worth the extra few Euros in comparison to the originally intended stay at the station hotel.
There is a dining area, but this could get a bit cramped with tour groups.
Staff are pleasant and helpful.
Would stay there again.

Room Tip: Other reviewers have made suggestions regarding the courtyard or front rooms. We were happy with ou...

I enjoyed staying here, excellent location, easy to walk to from train station, few decent bars yards away. The hotel itself was also good, nice rooms, we had three single beds, decent sized room. Only criticism would be the issues with the air conditioning as we couldn't get it working when we got back to the room, probably would have given it a 5 but for that as I thought it was also excellent value at about £100 per night.

Tip for you - go to the antique shop that is also a bar while you're staying there, one of the most unique places I've been too, arrived at 12.30am and left the place at 3.30am.

We had a very good experience here. It is very convenient for town centre. The good large room looked on to the street and the horse drawn carriages passed immediately underneath. The staff were very nice and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

We stayed in this hotel on a city break to Bruges in Feb 2013. It's a short walk into the main town square and there are lots of chocolate shops and cafes nearby. The brewery is only 5 mins away as well.
The hotel itself is lovely. It has a really nice bar area which we found very relaxing. It's also a nice touch that you get complimentary nibbles in the bar area. The bar staff were always lovely and nice to talk to. The breakfast at the hotel was nice. Couldn't fault it and would be happy to return to this hotel if we ever go to Brugges again.
