Spent 2 x nights recently for wedding anniversary - were upgraded which was very thoughtful. No complaints at all - rooms very comfortable - all staff very helpful - faultless service - good food. Everthing worked in room and very quiet.

Stayed for a weekend at this hotel. On arrival the check in girl was super friendly and explained about the room, gave us a map of Bruges and recommended some good sights. The room was very nice although a strange layout. We had a deluxe superior room. It had a jacuzzi bath but I never worked out how to use it. Bed was very comfortable, mini bar prices reasonable but there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room. The bar downstairs was nice and the drinks, as in every other bar in Bruges, were STRONG! We stayed in the main part of the hotel, which from the sounds of it is the best part.

We booked this hotel based solely on Trip Advisor---will never do that again without more research. " fool me once......." Staff are nice enough and the owners work hard with the property they have. Be sure to read the negative reviews because most are correct. There are two Hotel Prinsenhof's as far as I am concerned. The main front one with elevator and the other "motel" wings out back in the car park. Beware, I would have loved the place if we were not in the motel annex. The bar has been remodeled and is excellent. The breakfast room also is new and expanded with a nice breakfast, but on the speedy side. We, like many other reviewers, would like to see a hot water pot with coffee and tea in the rooms. I doubt if we would ever stay here again knowing about other nice hotels in the area---and we will not use Trip Advisor solely as a reference .......fool me twice, shame on me".

Our 5th trip to Bruges and our 3rd stay at the Prinsenhof. We had a great time despite the weather being very very poor.

This hotel is very good, wouldnt look any further. Always friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and good value.

My only complaint is that when you check out they add the city tax, which is not a problem, but you cant pay it with a card as the amount is too small. I feel this should be put on the original bill so when you check out there is no need to pay any further costs.

Will return for sure!!!!

Booked this hotel based on tripadvisor ratings and we were definitely not disappointed. Had an upgrade on arrival and were shown to a beautiful room on the 1st floor. Could not fault it although we were only there for two nights. The owners and the staff were all extremely polite, friendly and could not have been more helpful. Sadly the weather was not the best but we didnt let that spoil our trip. When the rain stopped we went on the canal boat tour and up the tower (not for the faint hearted or unfit ) but the climb up the narrow 300odd steps was worth it for the view at the top. Wandered through the lovely park and had a relaxing weekend. Think you may struggle not to get bored after more than a weekend. We drove there on the shuttle. An hour or so along the smooth unbusy motorway after disembarking and you are in Bruges found the hotel with help of our sat nav without too much difficulty. One tip book car parking in advance with the hotel the car park at back of hotel is cheaper than garage which we had to have for one night . We did not eat in the hotel but judging by the standard Of the rooms and service I would not think there is a problem with it. We found Bruges very expensive and you definitely can't get a decent cup of English tea however the waffles and creeps are to die for and I had waffle for breakfast with piles of fresh strawberries at Humpty Dumpty tea room round the corner. Four false gripe was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room but I believe this is not unusual. All in all I would recommend this hotel without hesitation and would be very happy to return there sometime in the future

Room Tip: First floor rooms were nice

This small hotel is a perfect diamond in the heart of Bruges. The location is wonderful for getting anywhere in the old city by foot. The service is superb; I was immediately given whatever I asked for. The rooms are lovely and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is incredible; the only problem is the 5 pounds I gained from all the good things I ate. I will definitely come back here.

How disappointing! This was a very special treat for my 40th birthday and a very rare weekend away without the children. We chose this hotel from the fantastic reviews on trip advisor and the gorgeous photos of an old and beautiful looking hotel. We paid extra for a deluxe room and booked the hotel over a year in advance to make sure we could get in. When we arrived the welcome was wonderful and the exterior and reception were beautiful - then we were shown to our room - outside in the car park!!!!!!! I could have cried it reminded me of an American motel! When we asked there were no other rooms available. So if you plan on staying here make sure when you book it they guarantee a room 'inside'! the hotel - not in the car park! Great service and beautiful building just not the rooms around the car park out the back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room within the hotel - not in the car park!
