Owner description: Bruges' City Hall (1376) is one of the oldest in the Low Countries. It is from here that the city has been governed for more than 600 years. An absolute masterpiece is the Gothic Hall, with its late 19th-century murals and polychrome vault. The adjoining historic hall calls up the city council's history with a number of authentic documents and works of art. A multimedia exhibition on the ground floor illustrates the evolution of the Burg Square.

Very impressive structure and square in the heart of Brugges. Did not go inside but looks great from the outside.

“Happening Scene”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

We lunched in a pub on the square and had a great view of all the activity and great diversity in the square. Bicycles, motorcycles and pedestrians navigate the ancient stones along with Mercedes taxis and carriage rides. A really long parade of historic cars passed through with their drivers, passengers and even some pets costumed in the car's appropriate period. Great spot to watch a day in Bruges play out.

“Beautiful interior!”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

As an attraction the town hall itself doesn't really offer much more to see than 2 rooms but 1 of these will blow you away - the paintings and the ceiling will literally make you say wow!

Make sure you pick up the guide and follow the paintings around the room to get the full story. You'll take tons of photos too!!!

“Give yourself time - you may have to wait for the bride!”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

The Stadhuis is one of the attractions that you can visit on the (2013 price) 20 euro Musea Brugge pass. The explanations of its construction over time are well done and multi-lingual. The hall upstairs is magnificent - but regularly hosts weddings so you may have to bide your time before being allowed in.
