Owner description: Bruges' City Hall (1376) is one of the oldest in the Low Countries. It is from here that the city has been governed for more than 600 years. An absolute masterpiece is the Gothic Hall, with its late 19th-century murals and polychrome vault. The adjoining historic hall calls up the city council's history with a number of authentic documents and works of art. A multimedia exhibition on the ground floor illustrates the evolution of the Burg Square.

...town hall/museum (with audio guides). The arched ceiling (with galleries) on first floor is quite breathtaking.

“Fantastic looking building”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013

The Town Hall is a lovely looking building inside and out. If you have time have a look at night also when it is lit up. The outside is covered in many statues and is very photographic. Sometimes the building looks quite grey and other times it is a pale brown, when the sun is out it looks fantastic. For a small charge you can visit the Gothic Chamber with it's fabulous ceiling and painted walls, well worth a visit.

“Interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

We had a museum pass. This included an audio guide, which is essential in explaining the paintings downstairs and the 19th century paintings and decorative art in the Assembly room upstairs. It is a visually attractive building that helps to show the historical importance of Bruges.

“Quick visit”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

Literally only one room to see, which is admittedly spectacular. Under 25's get in cheaper so take your ID!

Free audio tour which is a nice bonus. Only allow up to 30 minutes to look round the whole place.
