Very tranquil and pretty . Nuns still work in the smallchurch on site.the site is still a working haven for l
women needing support and the white buildings are immaculately maintained .

We came across this by chance as the Beguinage is nearly hidden behind high walls but it was a welcome respite from the hordes of tourists heading for Minnewater. The atmosphere of calm was bliss. We were lucky to see two nuns but respected their space. Well worth a visit

Just happened to walk there at evening prayer so we were treated to beautiful chanting of prayers by the Benedictine nuns living there. We missed the fields of daffodils by a few weeks. Early April would be peak for that spectacular sight

Gorgeous part of the city with numerous cafes and chances to catch a horse drawn carriage. With the swan-surrounded lake, stony bridge, and lofty will trees you can't really ask for a more picturesque and relaxing atmosphere. Lots of tourists, but they're usually on the move towards the convent.

There's a nice but small museum that shows how beguines lived, a church and a religious shop with all sorts of objects from around the world. Nice gardens and houses
