As we were only in Brugges for 4 nights, we did not want to eat in the same establishment more than once, so on our last night we tried this place, which from the look of the dinner menu looked interesting. Our reception was unusually offhand. When seated, we were presented with a basket of bread - white, sliced - presumably dispensed some time previously as it was now quite hard. We opted for the soup of the day, which sounded interesting but turned out to be a fairly bog standard vegatable, and no more than tepid. When this was pointed out, the soup bowls were removed, no comment or apology, and reurned piping hot, again no comment.
My wife ordered dover sole, and received three small fillets of some fish or other, well overcooked! My rabbit dish can only be described as OK - it was no better than that. We decided to forgo the pleasure of a dessert , and had coffee in another establishment, where we received the now familiar friendly welcome. There are lots of good restaurants in Brugges, to suit all wallets, so don't watse your time or money here.

The place is not your typical Brugge eatery and we almost didn't stay but were tempted by the lunch set menu of 12.50 euro for soup, chicken watazooi. Both courses were excellent however, we sat waiting for our last course and despite the place being relatively empty it became apparent that the waitress was more interested in playing a game on her i pad than serving us or clearing other tables. In fact, she looked startled when someone actually went to the bar and ordered 2 drinks! We left without having the third course as she clearly couldn't be bothered to serve us! A shame because the food was really nice! But we won't go again!

After strolling around looking for somewhere that might serve a really local dish we mistakenly chose here. There is a raised area that could have been nice earlier or on a warm night but we popped inside and tried for a table. Despite there being an entire mezzanine of table empty the grumpy looking waiter (of which there seemed only one) ushered us back down the stairs and made us wait for another couple to finish so we could use their table! The place looks lovely and the food did sound good (if a touch on the pricey side) so we waited patiently. It was at this point that my wife noticed several other people at their tables looking a little less than well-served. We eventually took the table ourselves after the others had left as the waiter was in no hurry to seat us. We waited some more before our less than impressive menus turned up. The food looked good but the details were rough photocopies stuck into nice wallets! The waiter seated another couple and began pouring drinks for yet another table but still no sign of even taking our order. He was still in no hurry so we got up and tried to leave. At this point the waiter made no effort to let us pass and awkwardly continued to serve these drinks.
As a sharp contrast we popped around the corner and had an absolutely amazing meal and service in the Venice a few doors away! There are so many restaurants in the city centre that can offer and deliver a better quality of service than this - PLEASE AVOID

Wish I had read the reviews b4. Looked quite nice outside and wanted a good evening meal in a quality restaurant. The food & the service were the worst we found all weekend and paid twice as much as better food and experience in cafe bars across the city.
