whenever I leant out of the hotel window after 10am. By this time, the tourist boats were passing by this, the prettiest spot on the canal, snapping away. Everyone waved and took my photo. While this might not suit you if you actually are a movie star, for ordinary mortals like me this was quite good fun, and when I got bored I could easily sit back in our lovely comfortable room and take in the lovely view.

Our room had a full view of the canal, and as this is the main reason why this hotel is expensive, you might as well splurge out on one of these - and once you are paying this much for the room, you might as well enjoy the view from canal level at breakfast too even though this is pricey too. (The cooked eggs and the waffles were particularly tasty.)

The hotel is in a lovely central location, the rooms are comfortable and pretty, well sound-proofed, cool, though ours was smallish. There was however tons of wardrobe space and proper wooden hangers (rather than those irritating ones that don't have a hook on top). And the wifi was excellent in the room.

The staff are helpful and friendly. I never saw anyone in the public rooms, apart from the cleaner! They provided complementary mineral water - my only criticism is that you had to ask for it - it wasn't replenished automatically.

Room Tip: Our room - 10 - was lovely, with a window on the side as well as at the front.

I can't say enough about this hotel. I stayed one night in June with my husband, and from the minute we walked in, we were in awe. Bruges itself is likely the most charming city I've ever been to, but this hotel was an extension of the city. The lobby and rooms smelled like flowers, and everything was extremely clean. The artwork in the lobby was stunning, and the overall feel was just amazing. We took the elevator up one floor and it basically lead us right to our room. There was only 1 other room on this floor. Our room (#15) had a canal view, was extremely spacious, and had the charm of a fairy tale. I remember telling my husband I felt like a princess. We took a bus from the train station to the Markt Square stop -- easy as can be and only 2 euro per person. You can also take the bus back to the train station from the same Markt Square stop. You cannot go wrong with this hotel, especially considering the price. BOOK HERE! Have fun in Bruges. :)

Room Tip: We stayed in room #15 and were absolutely thrilled. Great view, lots of space, and incredibly charmi...

We stayed at this hotel and were on the top floor (room 35) there are only two rooms on this floor. Room was great large queen size bed with separate bathroom with excellent walk in shown ( no bath) with different water jets. There is no direct view of the canals as room was on the side but restricted views. There was air conditioning in the room. Like other reviews there were no tea or coffee making facilities and a bottle of water was only provided in the room for the first night. We didn't have the breakfast although we were asked every night by the staff if we did, we thought it was over priced (paying for the view) and if it was cheaper I'm sure more people would take the offer up. The location to the hotel is excellent within easy reach of most of the attractions. It was amazing how quiet the hotel was considering its location.
Staff were very good and mor than happy to book a taxi or give directions. Would differently visit this hotel again and would be happy to recommend it.

Room Tip: Room 35 on third floor lift takes you to floor room directly on your left

It's very difficult to find a fault with this hotel--I couldn't. It has everything one could hope to find in Bruges. It's right on the canal, with beautiful views 10 steps from the hotel entrance. The services are excellent. The employees really seem to care how you feel. They're knowledgeable; they can refer you to any kind of activity that might interest you and then point the way to it. An interesting feature of this hotel is that their restaurant is not on the premises, but about 10 minutes away (walking). It's a terrific place, with Belfian comfort food like Waterzooi or Carbonade Flamand served in a beautiful setting, complete with working fireplace. English abounds, as does friendliness. Bruges is exceptional, a UNESCO world heritage site, and I can't imagine a better place to stay.

This hotel is located between the market square and the canals and could not be bettered. The view of the canals from our room (room 31) was amazing. This room is in the attic. It is beautifully decorated and furnished, with a wardrobe, day bed and small desk, as well as a queen size bed. The bathroom is very modern. Its only problem is that the bath is under the slope of the roof. Standing in the bath to take a shower (hand held shower only) could be a problem for anyone of more than small to average height. Similarly, a tall person should beware of sitting up too quickly in bed, as the sloping roof could be too close for comfort. There was no air conditioning but the windows are located so that you can get a cross breeze easily enough and the window from the bedroom has a flyscreen (yeay!). The hotel has free wifi, which is a plus. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even lending us umbrellas after we checked out. On the minus side, there is no possibility of making a cup of tea or coffee, as there is no electric jug, or cups available in the room. Also, breakfast is relatively expensive. Given the cost of the rooms, we think that a continental breakfast should be included with the room.

Room Tip: Room 31 is a good, standard room with a view of the canals, but maybe not for those who are of more...

Right from when we walked in on a very wet morning the staff made us feel welcome and relaxed. The service felt very personal and nothing seemed like too much bother, even printing a few urgent documents for my work. They were very helpful with information regarding the city, finding our way and assisting with restaurant bookings. The rooms were spotless and charming and even though our rooms were not 'canal view' rooms they did in fact have nice little views of the water. They had a cot ready to go in our room for our young son and it too was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and was served in a cosy room on the ground floor over looking the canal. The city itself was beautiful but very, very busy and it was a joy to return to the luxury, peace and comfort of our hotel.

Room Tip: We had a standard and deluxe room on the 3rd floor and they were both quiet at night and had views o...

My boyfriend wanted to book a great hotel for my first trip to Bruges, and this place was the place!! Completely charming and beautiful and the staff was perfect!! (Especially Frederik!!) Great location right in the heart of the city! I could not have been happier with our stay here. All of the vintage Louis Vuitton trunks were a great touch and our room was stunning!
