This is an "old world" charming hotel, perfect for a weekend break in Bruges. If you like very modern hotels with sleek design and mod cons, this is not the hotel for you. The hotel is located on a quiet side street a few minutes walk from the main square and Belfry Tower. Bars and restaurants are all within a 5 minute walking distance too. The train station is about 15 mins walk, but as there was 6 of us, we got a taxi that cost €12 from the station direct to the hotel.

The hotel has a small bar which opens in the evening at 7pm, the bar man was very chatty and really informative about Bruges. There is also a separate lounge and a breakfast room on the ground floor. Breakfast is continental style with a selection of breads, cheese, cereal, pastries, juices, tea and coffee. The bedrooms all vary in size and decor. I stayed in room 7 which was larger in size then the other rooms our group had and it over looked the canal. The general decor is sightly shabby but adds to the feel of the hotel.

Bruge is easy enough to get around, everything is near to the main square including the canal cruises. The Azalea Hotel is really only minutes from the square and perfect if you want the hustle and bustle of the tourist area's, but want to retreat to your hotel on a quiet side street. The Belle Epoque restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel and it was fantastic. It's literally a 5min walk from the hotel, the decor is fab with beautiful ornate ceilings, the prices are really resonable and the food was delicious - I can't recommend this restaurant enough!

Room Tip: If your pacific about your room choice, just ask them at reception or send them a quick email before you head over like I did. They will come back to you really quickly and they are very accommodating.

This hotel is a little gem well situated 10 minutes walk from the market square in a quiet street. We chose the hotel as it offered car parking and was within the old town, there was a charge but well worth it to have your car in a private garage. The room we had overlooked a canal and was spacious, perhaps needed a refresh but clean with everything you need. The staff were first rate friendly and informative a family feel to the hotel. The bar and lounge areas were beautiful with old paintings and period furniture. If we return to Bruges then this is the hotel where we will stay.

Room Tip: We had room number ! overlooking canal and garden.

This hotel is in a fantastic location. Just a few minutes walk from the restaurants, shops and sites of central Brugge. The breakfast buffet was delicious and could not be faulted. The staff were all very friendly. Our room was very clean although it could do with updating. Would visit again.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, superdelicious breakfast. Near to the center, about 15 minutes walk from the train station, and 10 minutes from the bus station.

Room Tip: try to choose room with view to the canal
