We stayed here earlier this week for three nights and were most impressed with the superb location. Situated behind the Belfort in the Markt, we were slap bang in the middle of Bruges. The hotel was clean and comfortable although the room was rather on the small side. Staff were pleasant and friendly, speaking excellent English. We really did pick the wrong time of year to come here though- the canals were frozen and the Belfort was closed until March. Still in the snow, it was very pretty and gave us the perfect excuse to drink lots of hot chocolates and to return again! Travelled on Eurostar- not very clear when you get to Brussels but with a bit of initiative you can find your train! Tip- Brussels Midi is Brussels Zuid (South) NOT to be confused with Brussels Central. A lovely hotel- would recommend.

Nice hotel which is within a few hundred yards of the Markt which is the main square in Bruge. Hotel is also a few hundred yards in the opposite direction from the river too so perfect for hopping to anywhere you wish to within the city.

Quite basic as with all European hotels in terms of room quality but has everything you need and is clean and comfortable too.

Staff in hotel were very friendly and efficient, man behind the bar spoke perfect English having an English mum and a Belgian dad and hence was good to ask questions on the local area etc.

Don't get breakfast in the hotel as its €17 per person which is expensive considering even on the square you can get a decent breakfast including tea, coffee and orange for about €8 each.

Also, bear in mind its only a 10 minute walk from the train station and so not worth paying €10 in a taxi when you can walk.

Finally food and drink on the square itself are way way more expensive than those restaurants and cafes just off the square and the food is better quality off the square too. Save your money and find a restaurant away from the main square, the others are litterally a few feet off the square so well worth it.

we stayed in this hotel 4th,5th and 6th of feb12. we got a upgrade to a cosy room in the renovated part of the hotel which i would suggest to anyone to request as the rooms are brand new and freshly decorated. the rooms have a mini bar (which isnt too expensive compared to some of the bars and cafes around the markt) and a hair dryer but no tea/coffee facilities. the hotel is a 2 minute walk from the burg and markt area which is a ideal location and even with being such a central hotel it is also one of the quietest hotels we have stayed in. the hotel is very clean and the staff are mostly friendly and helpful except for one called sofie who is rude and cant manage a smile, so avoid her if possible. the breakfasts are 17euro per person per day but there are some nice cafes in the markt that you get good deals in. you can buy a card for the wireless internet at the reception or there is a computer in the lobby that is free to use with internet available on it. i would recommend this hotel to any age of traveller and would definitely go back.
