We spent new years in Bruges and this hotel is right off the city center. Rooms are very clean, a little small but not a big deal. We went with our two year old and it was a very good experience. The beds are super comfortabel. Minibar is a plus, and cannot thank enough with a very polite staff members. I would definely recommended this hotel.

I could not think of a better location to stay in this wonderful City. Martins is literally next door to the famous belfry courtyard, situated right in the heart of the old town. WIth parking available (albeit too expensive for my liking - E25 a day), great service, a good if not great buffet breakfast and comfortable, quiet, basic rooms I felt all in all the advance price we paid was very good value (half the E210 fee as quoted in the room). If tempted by Belgium's fantastic beer you dont want to be too far away from all the bars and restaurants, Martins is a very good hotel in a perfect location.

Stay here for a great location but not if you're looking for character. A very modern hotel with slightly impersonal albeit professional staff. Lovely clean modern room and a great breakfast. Would stay here again mainly due to it being so central to everything.

This is a 3 star hotel and, although we normally choose a higher star rating, we thought for a 3 night city break it seemed very reasonable. We travelled eurostar to Lille then coach to Bruges. We could not believe how central this hotel! Literally round the corner from the main square and within walking distance of other squares, canals, boat trips, bars and restaurants.

For a 3 star hotel this was more than adequate - very clean, modern, reasonable breakfast included. We went in April but if it was warmer there is a lovely little courtyard to sit and eat/drink in, in the middle of the hotel. The perfect city break hotel!

When in Bruges, if you are able, climb to the very top of the bell tower - the views are amazing, but the steps are quite steep near the top so be careful. If you look up the intricate working of the bells are visible - really interesting. We went after seeing the film 'In Bruges' and we thought it looked so pretty it seduced us into visiting. Bruges does not disappoint - it really was like a fairytale city! I 'm sure Disney got his inspiration for his cinderella castle from the architecture in the main square. You have to keep looking up and keep admiring the rooftops and intricate and interesting architecture....

The bars and restaurants are lovely - try the 'Beer Wall' right on the canal, try the local beers in varying strengths, Zot makes you literally crazy and Juliper is refreshing. Just sit and watch the horse and carriages trot past, or hop on one, do the canal boat trip... If you haven't been - GO - you will love it!

Room Tip: no matter what room you are in - the bells will get you! But it is rather charming.. The higher floo...

Arrived 7.30 am. asked to pay to get a room early.Fully booked ( they said) Heard a guest checking out early twenty minutes later and was promised rooms at 11.00. At 11 came back and started checking in. Then manager at back said to staff, "wait, I have a group, no check ins till 15.00" . No offer of a drink, discounted breakfast, , just come back at 15.00, when we know rooms were available from 10 ( you could see) and no effort was made even though I offered to pay an extra night !

No free wifi and ridiculously expensive wifi fee , good breakfast, good room, great location, bored staff,no lobby to speak of, thin doors, but good value for money. Amazing what damage one person can cause !

Staff very friendly...went as part of our 'minimoon' . We were upgraded to one of the junior suites as they knew we were just married. very central for christmas markets as situated right behind belfries. bar slightly pricey for a vodka & havana club at 20 euros...but spirits are normally more expensive in europe. Room for a suite was rather small, so I wouldn't like to imagine what the other rooms were like. Overall, fantastic place to stay and would recommend for anyone planning to go over (just don't go for spirits)

Room Tip: have a suite in new part of hotel

We returned last week from a trip to Bruges and had this hotel recommended to us. The location is perfect, literally accross the road from the square. The rooms are lovely and clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I couldn't fault it all and would definately recommend to anyone who is going.
It is not a quiet hotel, as the bell tower is ringing most of the day - however i wouldn't say this was off putting it added to the atmosphere as wherever you are you will hear the bells! They did stop throughout the night
