Located in city centre in the historic district one can park and spend the rest of the time walking around the town. We opted for the underground parking (15 Euro/night extra) - as it was our first time to the city this simplified things greatly. Room was clean, cozy and quiet.

Room Tip: Opt in for the below ground parking - the elevator takes you right to you car!

When I booked to stay at the Acacia I noticed a lack of photographs on review websites of the hotel interior. But the four star rating gave me confidence that this would be a relatively luxurious hotel. Anyone who has ever stayed in a four star hotel will instantly know THIS IS NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL! It is (at most) a three star hotel, similar in style and facilities to a Travel Lodge / Premier Inn in the UK, only grubbier. The luxury fittings in all of the photographs are cheap and faux and the beds and fittings in the rooms poor quality.

We had a nightmare first night, there was a problem with the drains and when we returned from dinner there was raw sewage all over the floor in our room and the neighbours room. To be fair they moved us pretty quickly (under 20 minutes) but they had no more double rooms only a family twin room which wasn't particularly great for our romantic getaway to Brugge. Breakfast was pretty disgusting, scrambled eggs were cold, bacon greasy, bread stale and the toasters took hours to brown. The pool was cold and the Sauna had to be manually turned on an hour before you wanted to use it. Add our room's sink breaking before the end of our 3 day stay and all in all this was a poor hotel experience for us.

Location wise it is awesome. Only a few moments away from all the best tourist spots. A supermarket 100 meters away from the lobby to help offset the insane price of eating out in Brugge. If you do stay here do not eat on the market square near by (€35 each min). The prices are 2x-3x what you can find if you venture only a few streets away.

Room Tip: If you have booked double bed insist on one! Do not accept a twin bed pushed together. They do have...

Having emailed reception previous to our arrival, outlining that I was taking my new Husband away for a surprise wedding gift and New Yrs treat, we arrived to find our room upgraded to one with a balcony and beautiful view of the church and complimentary breakfast given to us for the three mornings we were there ( including New Yrs Eve and Day). The breakfast was varied and delicious with champagne served for those who wanted a little fizz to begin the day!
The staff could not have been more helpful, ringing to reserve tables for us and giving us directions and local knowledge which ensured we got the most out of our romantic stay in Bruges!
A 5 star stay!!

Yep - just what we wanted, central, friendly a bit different - almost had a sense of a "country house hotel" yet in the middle of Bruges - very nice people on reception, nice library/internet room -
if this is in the right price bracket for you - you cant go wrong with staying here!

I always try and pick a half decent hotel near the key points in a City. The Best Western Acacia is situated on a side street moments from the Markt square where the main xmas markets are situated along with an ice rink for the enthusiastic.

You are also a modest walk to all the famed places to see (The Burg, the Groeningemuseum, Choco story) and the nice thing is that there are no traffic lights, so what vehicles you see are relatively few and far between.

Our room was a decent size (I think the separate toilet and bathroom were larger than the room!!) and we had an enclosed patio area to relax on and watch the birds in the trees. (Note to self-Will have to return in Summer.)

A clean hotel with welcoming staff and the best bit is they have a talking parrot that speaks in different languages and accents.

Visit and teach him a new word or two from your homeland.

This hotel is located on perhaps the only quiet street in Bruges, yet in between two of the best squares in Bruges just footsteps away in opposite directions. This was our last stay in our three week trip so we decided to splurge. It was worth the money. The breakfast was really good by Belgium/French standards. We even had champagne and fresh orange juice to make our own mimosas, but thought it strange the no one else had seen the champagne hidden in plain sight like decoration. The rooms were at the end of the hall on the ground floor past an incredible indoor pool. Wifi was not so strong that far away, but our adult children had good wifi in their room on the same hall. There are many wonderful restaurant choices nearby, even a few with Westvleteren beer! There is a lovely sitting room and the staff were cheerful and helpful. Perhaps not a great bargain compared with other hotels, but certainly this hotel needs a better ranking in Tripadvisor!
