The Ibis is just about OK for an overnight or 2 but the rooms really are far too small. I couldn't get out of bed without colliding with the wall, and there is nowhere to store anything. Also seems to attract groups of noisy beer-swillers.
The curtains didn't close over the whole window so there was a lot of light coming into the room [as well as that coming under the door] - I realise that wouldn't matter to some people but we like to have proper darkness to sleep in!
Meals and drinks are very expensive; largely as a result of the collapse of the GBP, but there is a large element of "Bruges inflation" which is designed to relieve tourists of as much money as possible.
The hotel has a bizzare policy of taking payment for the rooms [and breakfasts] from your credit card long before you arrive. This means that you have to pay on the spot for everything else. This worked reasonably well until one employee lead me to believe that I had paid for drinks and dinner by signing a payment slip, [as I had done the previous 2 nights]. This in turn lead to a very rude receptionist at check-out accusing me of not having paid [and also tried to charge me again for the rooms and breakfasts!]. An arguement I could have done without as we had a ferry to catch!More
