I was driviong from the North of England to Hannover and wanted somewhere halfway to break the journey. The Leonardo in Brugge was in the perfect location just off the main road.
The room was adequate and very clean. There had obviously beed a water leak in the toilet from the room above. The repair was a little temporary, they had stripped off the walpaper and painted the bare wall. Hotel even though very claen looks like it could do with a bit of money spending on it. Having said that it is good value for money and the staff are wonderful. I had a meal in the restaurant which was excellent and exceeded my expectations. On Sunday morning I wanted and early start and was surprised that they serve breakfast from 06.30hrs on a Sunday.
A little way outside Brugge so if you want to spend time sightseeing then this might not be perfect for you, however it is a little oasis of quiet with a very very slight bit of noise from the nearby main road.

Only if you have a car. It is close to the motorway and not really all that swish, but neither is it all that expensive for Bruges. That said the rooms are fine and clean and the breakfast is as good as you will find in most hotels. Staff were efficient. We only stayed here because it was a last minute decision and we couldn't find anywhere more central. If circumstances were the same i suppose we would stay here again.

The Hotel Leonardo is quite difficult to find as it's tucked away on the outskirts of the city. If you don't have transport be prepared for a long walk (45mins to 1hr) as there is no public transport to this area. The Taxis are reasonable but you must purchase a taxi ticket from reception or it will cost you a fortune.
The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are basic but roomy. there is a restaurant and bar which are reasonably priced.
The receptionists were friendly and helpful and the rooms were cleaned regularly.

Very big rooms about 10 mins taxi ride from Bruges centre. Hotel can organise return taxi for 26 euros return which with economical room rates makes it worth considering instead of small central hotels. Room had hallway with door to room so any noise from corridor would have been shielded. There was no noise anyway, very quiet. Only downside was close to dual carriage way but noise was still ok. Clean, very comfortable and really excellent value. Free wifi downstairs but had to pay for it in rooms which should be free I think. Room heating and ventilation was effective and VERY quiet.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from road.

The hotel was fine in standard corporate style with friendly enough staff BUT it is so far out of Bruges being 5km from the centre and being surrounded by nothing but country and right next to the ring road so you can't do anything locally unless you want to drive. Its not worth staying here if you like a drink when on holiday and don't want to drive when there will be lots of options inside Bruges itself. taxi costs 26 euros return to town so better to spend that money on a hotel in the town and be part of the atmosphere of the town. My booking advertised a pool but it outside and therefore closed in winter. Wi-fi you have to pay for (not cheap) as well. Wish I hadn't booked 3 nights there!
