“Nice hotel, just don't get your hopes too high with the "spa"!”
Reviewed March 6, 2010

We were worried at first when we found out that the hotel was opposite a bus station (which gives you an idea of how central it is)- however turns out that was only the restaurant part - all rooms were down quite back streets. Very good and friendly service, and rooms nice and large (with random tapestries!). Only thing stopping me rating it 5/5 is that the "spa" facilities left a little to be desired. The pool is in view of everyone walking through the foyer and could do with some tiles being replaced, and the steam room has 3 seats and is smaller than my hallway (and i live in a one-bed flat in London). Oh and you need to press the button on the outside to turn it on (not a problem, except I didn't realise this the first time I used it, and so thought it was a little bit cold and non-steamy!). There was also a few pieces of gym equipment. That said, it was a fine set-up for a morning swim and Bruges is so lovely you don't want to be spending it all inside anyway.

Took my mother to Bruges for her birthday present and booked this hotel with Lastminute.com as part of a package including Eurostar.

Hotel very easy to find from train station, and in a good location. Met at reception with a smile and wonderfully friendly staff. Lovely hotel, very well done out inside. Our room was fairly big and very clean.

We decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant on the first night. We were greeted by a very friendly barman before we ate who chatted away about what to do and see in Bruges, and then had a lovely meal at a very reasonable price.

The only negative at all was that the showers in the swimming pool weren't working (and there was nowhere to get changed down there as a result) - but other than that, 5 out of 5.

My partner and I went to Bruges for a Valentines break, and booked the NH at their advanced rate “The Organisers”.
After following the crowd from the train, this place is pretty much the first thing you see on emerging into the town at the t’Zand. The location was fantastic – 10mins walk from the train (if that) and basically at the bus terminal. It is on the edge of town, but it’s so small everything is on your doorstep really!
The entrance looked lovely and our first impressions were of a warm and efficient establishment. We checked in 2 hours early but this was no problem for the staff, who welcomed us with a map and described a good route to start exploring.
Facilities are everything you’d expect from a modern hotel, the bar had a blazing fire and a friendly barman who told us the traditional way to drink genever!
Our room (deluxe) looked onto the t’Zand, had blackout curtains, a sofa&coffee table, a writing desk etc plus the most luxurious soft featherbed! No noise, ample space, was clean and well presented. When we needed anything ie an iron the staff were quick and happy to help.
In fact the staff were what stood out here. We were due to return via Brussels on the day of the terrible train crash, and so were stranded for an extra day. They offered to check us back in at the same rates we had booked at and gave us a similar, large room. Whilst we’d missed the deadline for laundry, the housekeeping manager immediately brought detergent so we could wash clothes for the extra day. Similarly they automatically waived the fee for borrowing a plug adaptor - a small gesture, but still, not being squeezed for every penny just lifts the whole experience.
Only dislike was the price for breakfast (€24 would be better spent in a waffle house if you ask me) but this was a perfect base for a great, romantic city break. Pleasant décor, a great night’s sleep and excellent staff!

My partner and I stayed in the NH Brugge for 3 nights at the end of January. The staff were all very friendly (apart from the strange waitress at Breakfast) and happy to help with any questions we had. When we checked in we had been allocated a twin room due to the vague instructions the hotel receive from lastminute.com (watch this if you're booking through them), but the girl at the desk was very helpful and moved us to a new room with an Emperor size bed!

The deal we'd booked didn't include breakfast but we were able to get a discount on the standard price by ordering breakfast the night before. Although the food wasn't amazing it was decent value for money when you add in the convenience factor.

Its in a pretty good location, about 15 mins walk from the main station and near the new Concert Hall. It didn't take long to get to any of the main attractions either.

All in all a pleasant stay. I'm not sure what this hotel would be like for families but its perfect for a couple's weekend getaway!

10 of us stayed here for one night in November to celebrate my wife's 50th. Went on the overnight ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge. Many hotels in central Bruges only allow at least a two night stay, we only required just one night so chose NH.
Some of us could access our rooms straight away (about 10am) the rest could leave luggage in the hotel. The hotel was spacious with a number of areas to 'lounge' in. It also had a swimming pool which we didn't use.
Stayed in 'superior rooms', the five we had were all different but were large had a pleasant decor, very large bed, bathroom with bath and shower. Our room looked over the busy T'Zand square, the noise was hardly detectable due to the triple glazing.
Breakfast was excellent, self service. The staff were very helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble.
We left our luggage in the hotel luggage room on the sunday before picking it up to get the bus to the ferry.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the bus station, and is about 15 mins walk from the Belfort tower through the old town.
Yes we would stay there again.

Enjoyed our stay. The Superior rooms were ideal for families with 2 double beds and we even got 2 connecting rooms with our friends in the other room. However, the booking web site does not allow more than 2 people in a superior room even though it states 2 queen beds. When i called up they confirmed that we could have 2 adults and 2 children in the room.

Anyway pleasant stay - good location walking distance to the Markt Square and Belfry and other tourist attractions. A good public car park just opposite.

Location is good - on the edge of the old town, easy 10 min walk to everything, easy to park if driving to Bruges. Hotel is OK - our rooms were very dated and with very soft beds - nothing like the photos they show you online. The heating didn't work in the bathroom and we only had hot water in the shower on 1 occasion otherwise we had cold showers. The staff were all very nice and helpful if you needed directions etc.
