We booked this hotel as a 'secret' hotel in a special offer. We did Google the description of the hotel to suss which one it was, and we were not disappointed!

The hotel is gorgeous and very clean. The service at reception was great, and the barmen in the bar were just amazing - the OH and I would sit there after returning from dinner every evening, learning about the local beers, culture etc from the bartenders who had loads of local info.

Location is excellent, just five minutes walk from town and with easy access to all the local attractions (we walked everywhere, and nothing was too far away - the chocolate museum, diamond museum, rivers, restaurants, churches, bell tower, etc etc).

We went for an anniversary and it was absolutely gorgeous. Room was really spacious, too. Would definitely return.

Just arrived home after a fantastic weekend in Bruges.

5 couples, we were all extremely happy with NH bruges.

My husband and I stayed in room 217. massive room with 2 double beds, we all booked deluxe rooms and would not hesitate to stay here again, Great Market on saturday morning, short walk into the main square.

Fantastic stay, comfortable nights sleep. booking again for feb!!

Room Tip: we stayed in 217...verry quiet. Friends stayed in opposite rooms which were on the roadside but they...

we stayed as part of a group. The rooms were spacious and clean. The decor was perhaps a bit dark for my taste but was in keeping with the history of the building wh ich was an old monastery. It is locate beside a train or bus station which was convenient if you had arrived by these modes of transport. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection. The staff were lovely if only a little thin on the ground. The bar was undermanned and we were kept waiting for awhile to be served. prices were very high, we paid nearly €28 for four pints of local beer and they weren't even full pints. All in all a nice hotel but lower your prices to keep the customers in the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 week from 15th July 2012 to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had booked a de luxe room which we were given and it was OK, but very dark. Almost everything was navy blue, but no problem with that. However, because the weather was not hot we did not need the air conditioning and we did not switch it on. During the night we were awakened by a loud vibrating sound coming from the vent. After two nights we complained and were given a much brighter room on the ground floor and we hoped for a better night's sleep. Not so. Exactly the same thing happened again! By this time we were so tired it was spoiling the holiday. Furthermore, we were not able to get the English speaking channels on the TV as we should have been able to do. We reported this and were told there was nothing they could do.

We decided to lie on the sunbeds in the small garden but we couldn't even rest there. The smell from the drains was disgusting!

We have stayed at many hotels and we do not like to complain, feeling that it makes you miserable and spoils the holiday, but really this was too bad to ignore. After several emails and some weeks later, the management, offered us, by way of compensation, an upgrade on a room should we book with another one of their hotels. Well really, would we after that experience? So we have received no compensation from them whatsoever, nor are we likely to because they are not replying to our emails.

Walking into this hotel I said to my husband "are you sure we can afford this?"! So first impressions were good. It's a lovely looking hotel within walking distance of the train station and all there is to do in Bruges.
The room size was great, we had a king sized bed with two arm chairs, a desk and a table. The bed, husband almost tried to pack it away with him, it was great. Paired with the blackout curtains you're guaranteed a good night's rest.
My only qualm would be that the bathroom was a little on the daggy side of things with poor pressure in the shower head, and not much coverage.
We didn't eat breakfast as it was way overpriced for our budget. The TV was old, not many English channels, maybe only one? The wifi was strong, however, and free.. Bonus.

Having been to Bruges on several occasions, I find it very hard to book a hotel for one night on a weekend. How great it was to find that not only did this hotel offer a night's stay on a Friday night, but at a reasonable price to boot. The rooms were spacious and well furbished. The staff helpful and polite. My party enjoyed their brief stay and we will certainly be keeping this hotel in mind for future trips to Bruge.
