While Bruges was a bit disappointing because of the clog of tourists, the Pand Hotel did not disappoint. We stayed in a Ralph Lauren Jr. suite, which was a luxurious treat that was surprisingly reasonably priced. The 4-poster bed was charming (and comfortable), the little sitting area was elegant, the bathroom was well-appointed, and the view over the rooftops of Bruges was a wonderful way to start the day. The library was a beautiful place to read the newspaper in the morning. The staff was very helpful.

We booked the Ralph Lauren junior suite and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. Decorated in soft browns and beige, it has an elegant ambience. The room itself was always pleasantly warm despite rather chilly weather outside and it was well equipped.

The staff were welcoming and very helpful in all respects. Part of the package is a free two hour city walking tour, presented by an elderly gentleman who has lived in Brugge for many years. The tour was informative and entertaining. The hotel also gives you discount vouchers for use at certain bicycle hire shops, a boat trip along the canals and the like.

Although it will probably please most guests, the breakfast is limited to a small buffet of cereal and very little fruit and then the normal fare of eggs, bacon, ham, mushrooms etc. Although it was tasty, we decided to have our breakfasts on subsequent days at the beautiful Duc De Bourgogne around the corner. Here the setting is exquisite with views over two canals and the food and coffee was superior. A more satisfying breakfast for 12 euro as opposed to the Pand's 19 euro (special - normally 22).

For stay, the Pand is an excellent choice - it is attractively decorated and has the awards to show. The room was always properly cleaned and kept in pristine condition and the staff were most pleasant at all times.

We could find no fault in the friendly, efficient service at this lovely hotel. We can certainly recommend the junior suite accommodation with lovely furnishings and fantastic bathroom. The central location is ideal. Do treat yourself to the champagne breakfast in the light airy breakfast room overlooking the patio garden.

Room Tip: Hotel internet site was good for special rates.

The Pand is a terrific small hotel and, like many places, within walking distance to just about everything. The service is outstanding. We had a small suite (106) which had a nice sitting area and a large bathroom. Even though it is in the front of the hotel, the room was very quiet. Unlike many European hotels, breakfast was not included. There is a pricey champagne breakfast for purchase. Instead, we opted for room service with a light continental breakfast.

Again, service was very good. I had left and item but it was quickly sent to our next destination.

The hotel also made some very good recommendations for meals (DeRefter was one)..

This hotel was really special. The room was lush, beautifully decorated, spacious and romantic. The bathroom just kept on going... huge basin and mirror, bathtub for 2 and shower & toilet. Great location; very quiet within walking distance to the city centre. We stayed in the off season and got the room for half price (216 euro). We could never have afforded to pay the usual rate for our room. Internet was free but finding USB input was a hassle. Breakfast was a little exy at 19 euro per person but when your own 'personal buffet' comes out you understand immediately. They will make anything for you. Get the hot chocolate.

Took my partner and mother here for a weekend break.
The location is perfect - central but away from the noise of the canal-side. The public rooms - bar, breakfast room and sitting room are cosy and welcoming. The staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms though (at least a "charming double" and one of the "Ralph Lauren" junior suites are okay but not brilliant. Perhaps i'm getting picky but the basics for me in a 'luxury hotel' (and this is one of the SLH group) are: great bed, soft pillows, big fluffy towels. 0/3.
I'm used to the stiff boards that are european mattresses, and these weren't bad, but they weren't $400-a-night good either. We had to ask change the foam cube filled pillows for some feather ones (which they did no problem). We just lived with the small threadbare face flannels that were pretending to be bath towels.
All of that said, if i wasn't fussed about cash i would recommend it. I just hope it doesn't rest on its laurels. The large chain hotels are really getting good at the basic rooms comforts. For a hotel at this price it needs to try harder.

Just returned from a weekend-trip with my wife to Brugge.
We selected this hotel mainly based on its location. Indeed a perfect spot, right in the center of Brugge and on a walking distance from all major touristic places.
We came by car. Lots of roadwork being done currently in Bruigge, so one needs to really pay attention here.
The hotel was perfect in almost every way. Location as said was top. Very, very pleasant and attentive staff and nice rooms.
Bathroom was somewhat small (they placed a toilet between sink and bath where only a child could sit) and the elevator as well is indeed only fit for midgets but that's perhaps mainly due to the fact that this is a cityhotel in former private houses
Very nice decoration (lots of Ralph Lauren), in the room as well in the rest of the hotel. Very nice breakfast. No restaurant on site but Brugge is practically stuffed with very nice and excellent places to have lunch or dinner.
All in all a perfect spot; we'll be back!
