“Excellent hotel and location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2009

First time in Brugges and stayed at the Heritage and had a great time. The location is excellent, right next to the Markt and plenty of bars and restaurants but we weren't affected by any noise so had two great night's sleep. The hotel has valet parking for 20 Euros which was great. Our room was 77. It was 'cosy' but then we're used to that in Europe. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a good shower and large flat screen TV. It had everything we needed for a city break. We didn't use the room service or restaurant as Brugges has so many great restaurants out and about but we did have coffee in bed by room service which was very nice but quite expensive (10 euros for two persons). There is free wifi in the room if you get the code from the reception and a business centre in the lobby. The staff at this hotel were very professional and friendly, we couldn't fault them. The only down side to this hotel is the rooms are cosy and there is no tea or coffee making in the room but other than those small issues it was perfectly comfy with no other faults, I would recommend it.

This was our first visit to Bruges, we found the hotel very comfortable and convenient for everywhere. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, we didn't pay a lot for our room so I guess that is why it was on the small side, but it did have everything, and the bed linen and towels were beautiful and the bed was very comfortable.

We will return to Bruges and we will definately go back to Hotel Heritage.

I arrived in Bruges by car and noticed it would be hard to drive through the old town. I stopped the car and phone the hotel, the attendent took her time guiding me through the maze. Quiet street, but i noticed a construction site across the street. It didn't bother us at all. No noise heard during our stay. The room was beautifully decorated in a classic style and it has all sort of amenities you expect from a 4 stars hotel. Open terrace, spa, private parking, two different breakfasts (for different budgets), great location and friendly staff. The only complain is that our room had some cracks on the wall. But it´s certainly a very good hotel. The rate i got did not include breakfast, so it was a bit overpriced in my opinion.

I simply can't understand why anyone wrote good reviews of this place. The location is great and the common areas are pretty but that's about the extent of what's good (oh, and there is free WiFi). The bad: There is long term construction going on directly across the street. How is it possible that no one has mentioned that?? Beds like cardboard with dead flat pillows. Extremely tiny rooms, even by European standards. Absolutely claustrophobic. Crazy shower with the shower head on the side wall so if you wanted the water to run down your back you had to turn sideways with about 3 inches between you and the side of the tub. Mediocre to poor staff (the one thing we asked them to do was make one restaurant reservation for a place we picked and they blew it off completely).

Thank you very much for commenting about your stay with us. However, needless to say that your comment leaves us with a very bad feeling. There is indeed a construction across the road with barely any influence on your stay or quality of your stay at the hotel. This is probably why nobody has mentioned this before. We are sorry this disturbed you during your stay, but this is out of our control and only temporarily.
Beds is something very personal and difficult as a hotelier on what kind of mattress to choose. We are sorry that it felt pretty hard but other guests have requested for the manufacturer of the beds just because they are so good. Our rooms are not of the large types but are according to European standards.
Please note that the shower head is fully directional, so plenty of possibilities to use it.
As a hotel we feel that it is our duty to give the best of ourselves on any point of view, also regarding making reservations for a restaurant and making sure that our guests have a nice meal with good value/quality. If the restaurant does not offer this, we do not recommend it and tell it to our guests, but leave it up to the them to make the final decision.
We are always at the service of our guests and that 24 hours per day, all year round.

We had a great stay at this wonderful hotel. The room (theatre-view suite) was very large with a sitting room and a separate shower/tub bathroom… the dual sinks also make a big difference. You will also have access to a shared sundeck if you choose to stay on the top floor. You can trust that the bed is large and comfortable enough… we slept well and the hotel seemed to be ultra-quiet. There is a nice bar setup adjacent to the check-in/lobby that seems to serve a wide variety of beverages ranging from liquor to beer and coffees. We never chose to partake in the breakfast, but it did seem to offer a nice spread as well. There seemed to be just enough English-speaking channels for late-night viewing purposes. The air-conditioning was good.

Its about a 5 to 7-minute cab ride from the train station… however there does seem to be a bus system as well.

One warning about Brugge… finding a decent/good place to eat can be tiresome and frustrating. However (and so very thankful for this), we did happen upon a great little sandwich/pastry place for lunch, who we in turn asked for their recommendations for dinner places… as locals of Brugge themselves, they highly recommended the following restaurants (which are both 5 minutes from Heritage): Quatre Mains and Assiette Blanche. Honestly, these two outings proved to be 2 of our more enjoyable eating experiences during our 14-day trip.

We spent one night at the Heritage whilst on our roadtrip to Scandinavia, and found it to be the perfect first night's stay. Positives were the proximity to the centre of Bruges, high-quality spacious room, lovely bathroom, friendly service including a free walking tour and orientation, and the quality of the buffet breakfast. Things to be aware of: current building across the road made it difficult for us to pull up in the car however the valet was efficient; parking is off-site but reasonably priced at approx. €20. Breakfast is pricey but you can have champagne and could fill up for the day if you wished to get the most from your money, and there is a cheaper continental option. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the road is quiet - building work did not affect us in terms of any noise. We liked it, and said we would stay there again and would certainly recommend it !

Excellent Hotel - I booked after seeing all the recommendations from previous tripadvisor comments, as a surprise birthday present. I decided against the breakfast option due to cost & found a lovely patisserie around the corner (turn left & left again at hotel entrance), though on last morning we did see the quality on offer, so looked good!
Rooms were ideal, though the only dissapointment was the lack of coffe making facilities - who after all knows when they want a coffee the following morning, but that was the choice you had to make on a card to hand back to reception...& to be charged €2.50 for the privelege. Also, on our 1st morning we were woken by an impressive sound system, but unfortunatly the alarm for 6am must have been set by a previous occupant - not somehting we needed on a relaxing break away from our 5 year old (something of a rarity!)

Each morning we had a written weather report, which was a nice touch, though the thought of someone sneaking something under your door whilst chucking out the Zzzz'a preturbed me a little!

Also, the internet was incredibly slow!

Overall, i would recommend this hotel, as long as you are not on a budget.
