You really don't have to be a rail fan to enjoy time in Rail City. It is a huge working model of rail tracks with model trains running through tunnels, over viaducts and in and out of stations. There is no cost to enter. The set up includes all the scenery would one normally see from a train, tiny figures of people, trees, animals etc. and the main lights over this huge model are dimmed at times, and the tiny lights along the tracks illuminated to create a night street and railway scene.. There is a small cafe/bar and tables and chairs one can purchase food and drinks and relax while watching the model movements which sits on a raised platform for easy viewing
