Description: This is an excellent lunch stop. Used by locals and great value for money. Unusually for Bruges when you ask for water they offer you tap water!!!! and don't look pained as though you had asked for something illicit. Remember when you got those same looks in the UK?? Definitely a little place to remember.

Visited with my girlfriend and her family. Yummy, family-run restaurant. Pretty casual and low key, but the food was good. I had fried Dover sole, which came as three small but whole fish that were fried and tasty. Sides were frites and a salad of endives, carrots, and a few other vegetables in a mayonnaise based dressing. Worth a visit for a nice, low-key meal.

Our bnb host suggested this restaurant to us. Wow! What a great little find. Couldn't read the menu as it was in Flemish although the waiters happily translated and spoke perfect English. We actually came here twice as the food was delightful and great value for money. For 12 euros you can have soup and a main which comes with salad and chips (homemade) or for 14 you could have steak with choice of sauce and chips and salad. The soup was some of the best soup I have ever had. Off the beaten path but Definantly worth the trip to find it.

We looked for this restaurant after recommendations from a guide book. It is slightly off the tourist beaten track, north of the main town but easily walkable, on a quiet square overlooking a church. We were not disappointed in the lunch we had. It was top quality food and they were friendly and hospitable to us and our toddler. The restaurant is nicely decorated and gives the impression of being in a top quality place, without the equivalent prices. They were happy for our toddler to share our food.

It was a two-course set menu at a price comparable to the restaurants on market square, but better food. (14 Euros per person). First course was a potato and leek soup - delicious and it was devoured by our two-year-old.

Next, I had a fish and potato pie which was packed full of seafood and was delicious. My wife had the steak which was cooked to her taste.

A great find.

Looked for the restaurant after a recommendation from our tour guide. Upon finding it off a nice quiet side street away from tourists, we looked at the outside menu. Flemish no translation but took a chance and very glad we did. Ate here two nights and both times food was excellent and service very friendly and helpful. Menu was only in Flemish but the young waiter was very patient and translated it for us.
Food was very fresh and excellently prepared. All and all a great experience and would highly recommend you search it out.
We had ice cream for dessert and we watched the waiter pick the mint for it from a outside flower box, that is pretty fresh ingredients.

Bruges is a wonderful city, but most restaurants are really expensive, and most of them are tourist traps. This one is neither.
Just a few steps away from the busy touristic area, in a very nice and quiet location, next to a pretty little church, it doesn't look very impressive from outside, but is certainly worth a try. The room is very nicely decorated, with a slight modern twist, and it had a very peaceful atmosphere. The food was simple but very good, all obviously fresh and home-made. Service was very kind (our waiter looked like a young Dustin Hoffman, quite an experience) and helpful.
I'm only rating it as very good as we only had the lunch menu with no desserts, so I can't say about a more proper meal with wine and all, but I don't doubt it would be equally good.
