“Proximity to train station can be good and bad”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2012

We arrived late in Bruges and actually had some trouble finding the place in the dark as it's not well sign-posted. We were given a room on the 1st floor facing the train tracks, and quickly became concerned that the passing trains might be loud enough to disturb our sleep. We tried to switch rooms but were told that the hotel was full, and that the trains would stop coming after midnight. I think I did hear trains after midnight but they did stop eventually. In the morning I also heard faint announcements on the PA system (probably around 7-8am).

Because we were both quite tired, the above did not disturb our sleep. Other than that, everything else is good with the hotel. Our room is pretty small, as you can tell from some of the photos. But at this price point, it's not unexpected.

Upon arrival the receptionist gave us directions to go into town via t' Zand. That can be a pretty boring 10-min walk. Instead, go via Begijnenvest/Minnewater area instead for a much more scenic walk.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor room facing away from the train tracks if possible.

Incredible hotel for the price. Paid 7 euros for the breakfast which was well worth it as you could eat & drink as much as you want. Parked car in Station car park for 3.50 euros for 24 hours which was excellent and so close to the lift to the Hotel. Easy walk to centre of Bruges. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and knowledgeable giving us maps and leaflets for the city and even marked walking route to centre on the map for us. Will go back again.

If you're looking for a good value bed for the night then you can't go far wrong with this hotel. Rather than trying to drive to and from the UK in one day we decided to arrive the night before so that we could spend the full day in Brugge before driving back. After an easy drive from Calais we arrived late and parked in the train station car park (€3.50 for 24hrs parking!). The hotel is directly above the car park and when we arrived we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who checked us in and gave us maps and leaflets for our visit.

The room itself is on the small side but for €57 is a bargain as we were looking for a bed for the night rather than a luxury experience. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The shower was hot and powerful and there was a TV which had some UK tv channels. The hotel was quiet at night (apart from the occasional train) and we awoke refreshed ready for our day. We didn't use it but there is a free bus which runs from the car park to the centre but you can easily walk it in 15 mins.

Without hesitation I would recommend this hotel to people looking for a good nights sleep at an affordable price.

The rooms are small. Very small so if you plan on spending any time in them then look elsewhere. Very little storage. If you can book a triple instead of a double that way at least you have an extra bunk to put stuff on.

Good shower but as stated in previous reviews it is in the room itself and the loo is separate but the wall thin and actual cubicle tiny.

Brakfast is good especially the pain au chocolate which was delicious, the rest is good too though and plentiful.

If using the car park then park on the top level as it's easier to access the hotel otherwise you will have additional steps, not ideal with luggage. The carpark is cheap though and showing your ticket at the bus station ticket office (or on the bus out of hours) gets you free travel into the centre.

There is a Carrefour Express nearby but it closes early and in fact it's a good 5 minute walk across the ring road to anywhere that is open after 7. No local bars or coffee houses which is a shame. Vending machines in the reception are not the same.

Everything is a good 10-15 minute walk away, so not ideal location wise. It was however surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the station.

Ideal for back packers etc but I prefer a little more comfort.

Two couples stayed 30/11/2012 to 02/12/2012
Ideal for short stay. Rooms modern and functional. We did not try the breakfast but extra 7 Euros. Public car park just down stairs from hotel for 3.50 Euros for 24 hour stay which you can use your ticket for free use of bus to centre.15 minute stroll to the centre with restaurants and bars. Train station next to hotel.
A must try The Habit Restaurant in centre, Kemelstraat 9

Rooms are quite small but cosy for a good price-worth it to stay. One of the disadvantage is quite loud because the hotel is situated next to the railway station. The bed could be more comfortable.Good service, nice atmosphere, lack of kettle.

The hotel itself is ok. Very budget which is also ok. What isn't ok is we left a jumper next to the bed which we then called back a few hours later during the day.

They told me it hadn't been handed in and they would talk to their cleaning staff about it and contact us about it. Next day nothing. So called again and told there was no sign and it was our responsibility. Sure if it was a month later but not 4hours. Stay here only if an emergency. Breakfast is also terrible. Wish I had found somewhere better

Cannot tell you my level of disappointment
