“YUM YUM YUM”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

We found this little restaurant up the road from our hostel, and thank heavens we did! The lady owner Natalie is gorgeous, friendly and has a great sense of humour. The food was top notch, I tried the Flemish stew and it was amazing!! There was so much i even had some to take home!
After a terrible experience at another restaurant, this was like heaven!
Make sure you book ahead as its so popular.

“A Lovely Piece Of Belgian Charm”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

We chose this restaurant based on other Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. A short walk from the town centre, easy to find following one road straight, this cute little restaurant is delightfully charming. The service is fantastic, good local dishes and you will not go short of food. I read another review which commented there was not enough choice for vegetarians... I had the cheese croquettes (highly recommended) to start followed by the goats cheese salad. I think you'll find it's fine!

The restaurant is very popular with British tourists, in fact I think most of the people in there were British, so it's worth booking ahead especially in peak season.

“Fantastic meal, great service, wonderful atmosphere”
Reviewed April 19, 2014

I can't add much to the other reviews. This is a dream of a restaurant, run by a lovely couple. He cooks, she serves, they live upstairs; it's just a great little spot. The building dates to the 1500's, the decor is fun and quirky (make sure to visit the restrooms too and take your time, it's entertaining as well). To top it off, the food is perfect.

From the cheese croquettes, to the delightful stew and frites that my kids said were the best they'd ever had, it was just a wonderful way to begin our visit to Bruges. We met a family from Canada and had a nice conversation with them throughout the meal, a nice casual, friendly, unpretentious place to do just that. Serving sizes are big so come hungry!

Definitely call for reservation; the night we were there a few tables were open, but it sounds like that is not always the case, and we were there before the start of high season. Thanks to the proprietors for a perfect evening.

“A little gem”
Reviewed April 19, 2014

We found this bistro after researching places to eat during our stay in Bruges. The restaurant was about a 10 minute walk from our hotel and we were instantly made to feel welcome. My husband and I both ordered Pate (sourced locally) to start and were helpfully informed that one portion was enough to share. The menu is not huge but everything is cooked to perfection. We both opted for steak as a main- my husband had the mushroom sauce and I had the pepper sauce. We were absolutely delighted with our choices and the steaks were cooked to absolute perfection. We had a superb bottle of wine with our meal and left feeling like we had stumbled across one of Bruge's best kept secrets. Our only disappointment? We didn't get to go back and after seeing the scampi that another diner had ordered, we really wish that we had had that opportunity!
