We stayed in the House of Winter apartment in late April with our almost 8 month old daughter and my fathers parents and I cannot tell you how much we loved this beautiful apartment. We were initially a bit concerned about booking it all online but found the process seamless and very well organised with all critical arrival details provided in advance. Entry into the apartment was simple when following the instructions and with all our luggage we were relieved to have lift access to our apartment.

Inside the apartment there were two very generously sized bedrooms (one with a basin / the other adjoining the main bathroom) and another room with two singles upstairs. We requested provision of a cot and upon arrival a clean, good porta-cot was set up in our room ready to go. The blinds were total block outs which made for good sleeping and the rooms were very quiet with extremely comfortable beds and pillows.

The kitchen is lovely and very well appointed and the living area spacious and light with beautiful large windows revealing glimpses of Bruges, roof tops and the sky. We also requested a high chair and a good clean ikea style high chair was provided.

The information provided in the room was great too, especially the phone numbers for the taxi which we used to book for our return to the train station (it's not far to walk from the station to the apartment but the cobbled streets make it very difficult to manoeuvre luggage on wheels - I wouldn't walk again if I returned to Bruges).

The location was central to everything, just off the Markt with a good bakery and grocery store just around the corner; this was very handy for supplies including for our baby.

The only aspect of the apartment which was slightly off beat for us was that the shower was not working properly (water running down the shower head and not out of the shower head) and the drain slightly blocked so that the base filled with water. It was fine though, we just used the handheld shower in the bath instead and that was okay.

I would most definitely recommend this apartment but especially for family groups or people with babies etc.

A perfect place to stay when visiting the beatiful city of Bruges. Very close to the main square, restaurants, and shops. Long Lazy Summer is lovely, spacious apartment on the top (2nd) floor (nice sun on the balcony in the afternoon). Raymond was a very helpful host. Cannot fault it - would stay again. One tip - walk 10 minutes out from the main square for restaurants and bars at more reasonable prices than on the touristy places on the sqaure itself.

Room Tip: Long Lazy Summer comfortably accommodated 3 couples. 2 doubles and 1 twin room. Very spacious lounge...

At 250 square meters, I think this apartment is bigger than my house! Location is great, just a 5 minute walk to Cambrinus bar and Market Square. No noise from any nearby bars, as previous review identified (in fact, couldn't find a bar across the road). For 3 couples, this rental works out cheaper that most Bruges hotels and is very luxurious, with space to cook or spread out. Only downside is just one loo, just one TV channel and a DVD player that kept sticking, no matter which DVD we tried.
I would definitely stay here again.
As everything was booked over the internet and keycodes were given for access, never saw the owners/staff, but it all worked fine.

Room Tip: Two doubles (massive bed in our room, 200x180) and a loft twin.

Arrived at our apartment Joy of Spring late because we missed the Eurostar due to bad weather and found the entry system very easy to use .Great to find a lift for luggage. The apartment was amazing lovely and clean and well equipped and was very spacious. We went with another couple so it was great to have so much space.Lovely and warm all the time considering how cold it was outside and the beds were really, comfortable.Apartment really close to the Markt and loads of restaurants and bars.Would definitely come again and stay here. Thanks to Raymond for sorting out my wrong booking.

Room Tip: All rooms look fabulous. We had one of the smallest and it was very spacious.

central situation, great size. the building is well built and blissfully no noise from other apartments ie doors slamming, loo`s flushing etc. No need to take i-pod/cd player good standard of equipment already there. kitchen well equipped but better instructions for those of us not used to electric hobs/multi function microwaves please.
there are lots of metered parking spaces nearby, great for unloading/loading cases.... we then parked at the railway station 3.50 euro a day plus free bus ride back to the centre..

Very nice apartment , great location, large rooms. Nice shopping and restaurants very close by. Use the book left by the owners list the restaurants close by and the 2 we tried were really good. Only were there for 2 nights but could have stayed longer as Bruges is so beautiful. Would recommend to friends and family!

We made the mistake of only getting the apartment for 2 days when we should have done 4 or more and it was already booked for the extra days. I'm not saying which room it was because I don't want it to always be booked. All I can say is, why spend the same price on a hotel in the area less than 400 sqft, when you can get a 1700 sqft apartment for the same price. It really makes you feel like your a local and helped us to enjoy it that much more. We loved the entire process. They send you a secret code to the front door and lock box where your key is and you just go to your room. One rule, leave it like you received it and you'll avoid the cleaning fee. This really means, just clean the dishes you used, and take out your own trash. They do the rest of the cleaning. READ THE WELCOME BOOK, it will probably save you money. You never see the workers, but can go to the office if you want to. They do everything behind the scenes. Raymond (either the manager or owner) is great to talk, extremely friendly, and is very helpful. The rooms were spacious and had a very nice floor plan, the beds very comfortable, the view of the small square was fun to watch the tourist fight over the lack of parking spaces to get to the chocolate factory (tourist trap) across the street.

My only complaints: The dryer for the clothes did not work well, so we had a bunch of wet clothes after we washed, there was heat, but I don't think the drum was spinning. As awesome as the shower in the second bath LOOKS (see pic), it is totally useless. There is no pressure for the top, the 6 massage sprayers hit you in all the wrong painful places, The shower space is so small and tight, so if you try to use the removable show head you can't move and the hose is too short. There is no place to put your luggage to unpack and needed drawers or shelves to put your clothes, there was just one basic cabinet with hangers. We would have loved to take advantage of the newly built relaxation area (Jacuzzi, ir spa lamps, and relaxation recliners), but at 85 Euro (I thought he said 30 minutes) that was just too high, even if it was for 1 hour at that price. Since they have apartments for up to 12 people, maybe it is more affordable when you have multiple families going in together on it. It was done right and I would have loved to spend 2-3 hours in there.

We never heard anyone outside from the bar like others complained about, in fact we could not even find the bar when we went looking for a drink. If you want to have a drink and get away from the crowds, there is a nearby Irish Pub called "The Druids Cellar" it is easy to miss since it is underground and there is one sign standing near the steps going down to it.

Room Tip: Don't choose the room I stayed in, I want it available net time I want to go back.
