“Elegant luxury hotel in fantastic location. Worth the price.”

Situated in beautiful location, just off main belfry tower square, this hotel is a really elegant building and the decor is divine. A lot of thought has gone into every aspect of this hotel. The room was delightful with the most comfy of beds (great night sleep!), the foyer was very grand and the bar area was a real delight. I felt like I was lady of the manor with the beautiful furnishings! The food was excellent, with a large choice of breakfast items. Even full english. Very recommended if you want a real treat. Staff were friendly and helpful.

For what I paid (£105 without breakfast), I thought it was good value for what we got.

The location is fantastic, and our room in the new wing was spacious and clean. The bathroom - which had a shower as well as a bathtub - was spotless. Free WIFI is available, and there are two computers for use in the public areas. There is also a small but adequate gym (albeit with virtually no ventilation or towels). We were provided with lovely toiletries, quite rare in European hotels in my experience.

Service was generally friendly - we asked the front desk staff for help to reconfirm our dinner reservations which were made via email, as well as train information. They were slightly stretched at times, but they handled things well. Our request for an iron and ironing board was met promptly.

A few small things to note:

1) The hotel only have twin beds - we asked if they had a single double bed on the second day as there was quite a gap, and were told no but that 'they would do something about it'. Basically they relaid the sheets such that it was one sheet covering both beds :) Not a big issue.

2) I forgot my toothbrush. When I called to ask for one, I was told the hotel does not provide dental sets. It was a hard lesson learnt, as shops were closed at that hour. The hotel did not indicate if they had one for sale. Again, no biggie.

I think at this rate, location, big size and comfort, and service are very good. I would definitely stay here again.

The location of this hotel is excellant being located just a few minutes walk from the main square. The public areas of the hotel are very nice and steeped in history, the staff are friendly and the breakfast has a good wide selection.

We stayed in a room with a canal view, it was spacious, if characterless, clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. However there is no facility to open the large window and this made the room feel very claustophobic. The bathroom was big, but the fittings were poorly finished, shower doors did not close properly for instance.

Overall the hotel was good but I would say that it was a bit overpriced for what was on offer !

As I write this review the Grand Hotel Casselbergh is ranked 10 out of 107 hotels in Bruges. The hotel as others have said has been recently refurbished and to a very high standard. My wife and I stayed in an Executive Room and paid €150 a night and this includes breakfast. The room was very nice with a desk and chair and two separate chairs, wardrobe, minibar, a reasonable size LCD TV and a Super King (6 foot) wide bed (2No 3 foot mattresses). The room is air-conditioned. The bathroom had a bath and separate shower with drench shower head, W.C. and washhand basin.

The wifi internet was easy to connect to and the speed was good.

Breakfast was very good - Hot - boiled and scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages - Cold - cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses, salmon ................and plenty of it.

The standard rate for the room is presently €230 but is discounted to €150, bearing in mind that breakfast is included which similar Hotels will charge at least €20 per person - the double room is costing €110. As it gets more popular it will no doubt increase but presently in my opinion it is the Best Overall Hotel in Bruges!

We stayed just the one night on our way home to Australia. The hotel was perfect in all respects. We had stayed in a number of 4 star hotels over the past 2.5 weeks and this was by far the best for $$'s and quality. Breakfast was excellent (and included in price), central location, decor superb and staff very helpful. We were able to take advantage of the special promotion on offer as well. Superior to other hotels reviewed that were considerably more expensive as well. Wireless internet was fast and reliable and free of charge (compared to others that charge). Complimentary glass of champagne as well. Parking was also at concessional rates. Would highly recommend

Having been to Bruges a couple of times this is the first time we have stayed in this hotel. The hotel appears to have been recently refurbished and it has been done to a very high standard. The value was exceptional and the quality of service and surroundings were second to none. Breakfast choice (included) was very good.

You can park you car in the underground car park accessed via a lift at an additional cost. The hotel is situated right in the centre of all the town centre attractions. Highly recommend it.

We stayed in Grand Hotel Casselbergh for the weekend only.

"Romance in Brugge" was the name of the package me and my partner bought. Package consists of bottle of champagne that you receive, voucher for a horse carriage in Brugge and dinner in the restaurant choose by the hotel. There is also tour guide of Brugge where you can find vouchers for the city card (described later).

Rooms are spacious, clean, bathroom was great and had l`occitane cosmetics for use. Minibar prices were competitive as coca-cola can was 3 Euros (where normally in such quality hotels you have at least 5..) You have a wifi internet connection free of charge, very strong one, so you can surf with no problems at all.

Restaurant in the hotel is serving breakfasts only, as there is no real kitchen (owners prefer to carter dinners if necessary ). It’s obvious for me as you have so many restaurants in Brugge that hotel restaurant would just stay empty. Food quality was great in the morning: fresh bread, eggs, ham or cheese, jams, coffee or tea. All the things you wish for breakfast time.

There is also wellness centre and saunas that we didn’t try, but have seen - top quality standard.

If you ever imagine staying in the luxurious type of hotel in a small touristic city, for a reasonable price this hotel is definitely a must. If you have any questions regarding the hotel do not hesitate to contact me.
