This historic hotel is sure to please. It backs up to beautiful canal and a very short walk to all the sites you want to see in Brugge. Being so close to the Burg and Market squares you have access to many wonderful restaurants. The rooms are very comfortable and the hotel has a wonderful breakfast built into the room rate.
After a full day of sightseeing, cosy up in the bar room for a delightful Belgium beer.

Room Tip: There is no on site restaurant but many great ones within steps from hotel

This hotel has many positives. Firstly it is really well located right in the heart of Bruges and a few steps away from the main sights, for exploring it is excellent. The décor style of the hotel is nice with a level of charm that is both pleasing and different. The service at reception was good and helpful with storing luggage and ordering taxis. The actual room was relatively small and had most things you would expect, but this is where attention to detail let the room down a little. The remote control was broken and the back fell off every time you picked it up. The tea/coffee tray had no milk or cream and only too sachets of tea (black tea at that). There had been a spillage of some kind - cleaning product on 2 areas of the carpet and the chairs had previous small stains from spillages on them. It is this attention to detail and care in the room for guests that makes the room okay and takes it to very good or excellent. Breakfast was buffet which was busy on one on the mornings which affected service a little. The choice was fine. The hotel is about a mile from the railway station and a bus takes you to the centre of Bruges and a short walk to the hotel or a taxi is 9 euro's. I would recommend this hotel for its location and service but for me the little touches in the room and care of furnishings let it down slightly.

Well located. The staff were helpful and courteous and the room was very good. We were located in the new wing so the room was fresh and modern. Staff helped us with ideal places to see. We enjoyed a drink or two in the bar and the bartender was very helpful with a restaurant to go to. The restaurant was first class. We would go back there on our next trip to Bruges

The hotel is in an excellent position, close to sites. Superb public rooms.
Was a bit miffed when we had paid extra for a "Quality room" and had a room that was fine
if you had one leg shorter than the other and were under a metre tall. (it was in the roof)
On checking out a rather rude receptionist said the "standard and quality are the same"

Room Tip: Don't take room 2401 unless you have one leg shorter than the other and are under 2' tall

We were in a tour group so did not select the hotel ourselves; however, if we are ever lucky enough to get back to Bruges, we would return to the Casselbergh hotel. We were assigned to rooms in the new building. The bathroom was modern with separate shower and a very large, luxurious tub. The closet was the largest on our trip through 5 countries and included convenient shelves. The bed was very comfortable. We appreciated the coffee and tea provided in the room. Frankly, we only slept there and ate the included breakfast. Otherwise, we were out exploring the city. We slept well every night without being bothered by street noise or noisy guests. The entire staff was very accomodating and pleasant, The lobby was impressively decorated. The whole place is beautiful and very clean. Our group had a quick meeting in the elegant room by the front desk. Above all, this hotel has an excellent location, just two blocks to the Burg Square.
