“Very Grand Indeed”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

Beautiful hotel, grand sitting rooms, fireplace and chandeliers galore. Prior to check-in we had requested an upgrade to an executive room which the hotel had advised was unlikely. Much to our surprise upon checkin we were upgraded to an executive room, free of charge, in their main building. A grand end room with a view of the clock tower, large chandelier, lovelty shower and bath facilities with l'occitane bath products. Service was impeccable whether at reception, the bar, or room services. The breakfast buffet was included in our room rate with a very nice variety of both hot and cold buffet items. Location of the hotel is superb, a couple of minutes from The Burg and five minutes from the market. A great availability of restaurants in and around the hotel area, at all price points. We found this hotel to be extremely reasonable for the quality, service and amenities. A special thank you to Daulphine on Reception who is a charming and enthusiastic young lady excelling in cutomer service. Thank you for a beautiful time in Bruges,

My rate was €135, the room was clean and secure, the hotel staff extremely helpful, and the breakfast the following morning was tasty and plentiful. The bathroom had a shwoer as well as a tub and although the view was just the other part of the hotel across an open space, I didn't choose the hotel for the scenery. I would most definitely stay again.

Great location - easy to walk everywhere. Busy hotel but very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very well appointed - large bedroom and spotless bathroom. Comfy bed and lovely pillows. Bathrobes on request. Rooms very quiet. Breakfast excellent - buffet style with everything you could wish for (except fried eggs) in a very pleasant room downstairs. There are about four different lounges you can sit in for evening drinks - very traditional, peaceful and relaxing. Staff are all very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: We went with a group of friends and all had different types of rooms on different floors - none of u...

The rooms are well kept, nice "old fashioned" atmosphere, cozy, clean, and soundproof, no disturbances whatsoever. The room service is prompt and very kind. Although we were quite surprised that a hotel of this category does not offer a proper cappuccino for breakfast - and the staff is not willing or able to make one.

We stayed 3 nights in this terrific facility. We had a canal view room that was large, modern and very comfortable. The location makes it so easy to walk to all sites in Bruges. Every evening we sat in the lounge/bar area---a true haven--beautiful quiet rooms for winding down from a busy day. The breakfasts were good, but entirely repetitive. We received good suggestions from the desk about nearby restaurants. We wouldn't hesitate recommending Grand Hotel Casselburgh.

Our stay at the Grand Hotel Casselbergh in Bruges was nothing short of perfect. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, the rooms were large, newly renovated, comfortable, and quiet. The bathrooms were large and well-appointed. Our view was of a side wall of the hotel, but it didn't matter much. We were in the "second" building, but we had a friend who had a room in the "first" building, and her room was totally different, but every bit as nice. It was a little smaller (she was a single), but there were wonderful old beams, a great view and a shower which was separated from the toilet and sink.
There is a small health spa on the premises. We didn't use it, so I can't comment on it, but it did look nice.
We also had a very good rate on our room for the quality of the hotel. The hotel is in a great location and there are plenty of good restaurants very near by. The hotel bar was a welcome addition. All in all, this was a great experience.

Room Tip: If you want something a little different and charming, ask for a room in the older part of the hotel...
