“Almost Perfect”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

Booked at 2 night deal via Eurostar, which worked our extremely good value. Breakfast not included, but perfect for us as we are not early risers! Room was in new part of hotel with no view, but the only time we spent there was to sleep - incredibly quiet & such good blackout curtains that we slept 10 hours each night (even with The Toon Army in town!!) Brilliant location - so easy to pop back to the room to drop off shopping, shed / gain clothing layers as weather changed, even to go to the loo!! Minimal contact with staff, but what we had was good; didn't use the wellness centre so can't comment. Room was spotless - amazing, sparkling bathrrom;really comfy beds & big squashy pillows; lovely toileteries (body lotion but no conditioner, is you're wondering what to pack) To be really picky, the towels could have been fluffier, & there were only 2 sachets of coffee & 2 T bags per room (with only powdered milk). Good free WiFi, reasonbly priced minibar (so buy your own milk etc & store it there) Bruges is a truly wonderful city & as we hope to return we would definitely stay here again. Even if you're not staying, do drop in to use their loos - possibly the best we have ever seen (turn left inside the main entrance - Reception is to the right, so you are unlikely to ge challenged!)

I only base this review on one night, however. But my impression is that this is a top-notch hotel in which you can find little fault. Clean, well-appointed, well run, excellent location. A caution, however - be aware that what you see on the website is not necessarily what you'll get. It all depends on how much you spend for a room. The 'standard' rooms (I paid €126 for the one-night) are just that - good rooms but not really memorable. Photos on-line can be a tad misleading. The beautiful rooms with canal views come at a cost. But that's merely a warning, not a criticism of the hotel (my naïvity). We did use the hotel's indoor parking, which is an interesting maneuver but worth (€20 until 1500 the next day) it if you have a car in downtown Brugges where parking is a premium. Unfortunately I cannot speak about the wellness offering, which looks quite attractive. The breakfast was very good and really all aspects of this hotel were first-class.

Room Tip: Choose carefully is you want a larger room or a canal view - there are only so many of those rooms a...

Lovely hotel in a central hotel in Bruges. Clean quiet comfortable room with a modern bathroom. Reception staff great, helpful and friendly. Breakfast included in our deal (we stayed 3 nights) which had cooked and continental choices with fresh fruits and juices.
Free Wellness centre wet and dry sauna with some gym equipment but no pool. Very pleased with the value and location only a minutes walk from the canals and squares.

If the Hotel Casselbergh could have been planned and located any better, it would be impossible. This has got to be one of the loveliest and classiest hotels anywhere in Europe, never mind Belgium. The rooms are incredibly and tastefully laid out, and the food, especially the breakfast, was exquisite. The staff were very helpful and the occasion was made all the more special with divine little touches like L'Occitaine toiletries. If you deserve to be spoiled and enjoy a treat of a break - you won't do better than the beautiful city of Bruges and the Hotel Casselbergh.

Room Tip: Go through Secret Escapes!
