“Good food, but nothing more !”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2012

People are seated around a teppanyaki (10 persons for 1 table) and it's really fun to see the chefs cook. The food is nice, nothing special but good. Only thing that bothered us was the unfriendly waitress who even cheated on our wine. She said our bottle was empty (while we were very sure it wasn't) so we had to buy an new one.
We would not go there again.

“we had a nice evening , entertaining showcooking ,good with teens”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2012

Looking for a change from our traditional restaurants ... sumo was a good choice . Our teenaged daughters are not so keen on 'special ' food but this time they loved it , the show-effect must have contributed to that I assume . Probably more fun when you go with a small group (other guests are sitting along the same table ) It did not bother us because we were focussed on our family . The chef juggling with his knives and condiments ... like Tom Cruise in Cocktail . We were impressed by his skills , and it tasted great !

“Not bad but won't return”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2012

We went there for New Year's eve with relatives. There were only 7 people in total while the restaurant has much bigger capacity.
The first dishes (sushi's & prawns) where good and we enjoyed the show cooking in front of us.
So, ok for fish & seafood but when it comes to meat, it's no longer the place to be: fat almost raw lamb, overcooked beef with too much garlic...
The menu was not cheap and included "a glass of Champagne at midnight" at the end. What we received was not Champagne but a cheap sparkling wine with an awful taste.
This was a very disappointing & unfair way to end this dinner.
This is a good reason for me not to return there and I now better understand why this restaurant was so empty.

“Fine experience... reasonable price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2009

Japanese restaurants are usually expensive... but this one is priced quite reasaonable, with most menus between 28 and 48 euro's (one exception at 66 euro). All seats are situated around 6 teppanyakis. When entering, all guests are offered a kimono to make the atmosphere all japanese. The staff is mostly Japanese.

We had the "Ryori de Luxe" menu for 48 euro: Food quality was good and there is more than enough. As usual with Japanese restaurants, the "show" at the teppanyaki is there. All in all a good experience.... we will surely go back.
