“A Very Special B & B Indeed!”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

With my husband we stayed at Maison Bousson for two nights between June 30-July 1, 2013. I rarely write comments on hotels but thought that Maison Bousson was so delightful and our stay there so special that I should let Tripadvisor readers know. Run by Sophia and her husband, the rooms are well equipped and immaculately clean. Being out of town centre, but still easy walking distance (about 10 minutes) to all attractions - in fact Bruges is not a big town and we walked everywhere - the hotel is located in a very quiet neighbourhood and exhumes serenity and calmness. Sophia is a most welcoming and helpful host, it is clear that she takes great pride in everything she does, from breakfast, station pick-up, restaurant advice and booking - nothing is a bother or inconvenience for her. Her breakfast was amongst the highlight of our stay - beautifully presented and absolutely delicious with a huge choice. Her training in hotel management and catering is clearly of the highest level which is manifested in how she runs Maison Bousson. We had a special week-end in Bruges much of which was due to having stayed at Maison Bousson which comes with our highest recommendation.

Room Tip: There are only three rooms. We stayed in the Suite-Piscine which was on the first floor overlooking...

We have just returned from an amazing weekend, what a fantastic place Maison Bousson is. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to visit Bruges. It is located a short 5 minute walk from the main town and is a really peaceful lovely place to stay. The owner Sofia could not have done more to make our stay more pleasant and memorable, she is such a great host! Her breakfasts are incredible and the drinks on arrival were most appreciated. The rooms are really large and spacious. This is an amazing B&B and a must stay!

My wife & I stayed here for our anniversary weekend in Bruges. After considering lots of different hotel options, we settled on this B&B thanks to the great reviews on TripAdvisor. We definitely weren't disappointed.

Our host Sofia was happy to pick us up from the station on arrival and even met us at the station with our bags on the way back so that we had extra time to enjoy our last morning in Bruges. As it was a special occasion, I ordered a bottle of sparkling wine for our arrival and Sofia made sure we felt very welcome

At booking, our only worries about this B&B was that it's situated outside of Bruges centre. However, it's only a 15 minutes walk to Burg square and other central spots. Bruges itself is pretty small, so it was never a problem. We did find ourselves wishing we were a little closer when walking home during the unusually cold May nights that we experienced. However, it's a great way to walk off the beer, belgian waffles or Sofia's breakfast!

And what a breakfast! If you stay here you should order it for at least one of your mornings. They're almost 'too' much, especially if you're watching the calories, but the amazing presentation and delightful setting really make it a must.

We stayed in the Junior suite which is situated on the ground floor, just off the breakfast room, with a lovely view and terrace on to the garden. The pool and hot tub were closed due to the weather but they looked amazing. The room itself was large, spacious, with an extra single bed and excellent modern design. It made for a very special stay. We would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to stay in Bruges for a special weekend.

Absolutely perfect hotel. Great location, I readily located it by car from the south of England with no problems. Great location, 10 minute walk from Bruges centre with free parking right at the hotel. The host Sofia was really fantastic, so welcoming, showed us up to our room and instantly offered a beer which in my book is much appreciated after a good drive, she could literally not have done more for us! And the room was huge, everything you need and more, immaculately presented with a terrace overlooking a pretty little garden. Lots of little treats in the room every time we came back to it! I have worked in hotels for many years and have never been so impressed!

We stayed at Maison Bousson for a couple of nights. Upon arrival we were greeted by Sofia, the warm and friendly owner, and shown to our very spacious accommodation. The suite comprised a double bedroom with en-suite shower room, seating area and tv, separate bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, further twin bedroom upstairs and a spacious balcony. Phew! The style and design is contemporary, well thought out and extremely comfortable. The breakfasts are amazing, beautifully presented and must be experienced - you will not be disappointed! Whilst boutique styling and contemporary chic is strongly evident at Maison Bousson, the thing that sets it above many places we have stayed at is the attitude of the owner. Sofia really is the heart and soul of the place and indeed puts her heart and soul into it. If you are looking for a relaxed boutique experience with a personal touch then this is definitely the place to stay. We were even given a lift to the station upon our departure and sent off with some cake, chocolate and bottled water for the journey. Now that's what I call service!!

Just returned from our second stay at Maison Busson. Sophia has created a superb B and B and her passion for modern design really shows. The accommodation is spacious, on trend and the breakfasts are amazing. The B and B is in a quiet setting just outside the town walls - a short walk away. It feels like home and Sophia has though of everything the rooms are so well equipped. We will return

From the moment you step through the door you feel welcome. The rooms are stunningly decorated; contemporary, stylish, chic, yet comfortable, just like you see in the pictures. The owner, Sofia, has incorporated many 'little touches' that make you feel at home.
The B&B (B&B doesn't really do the property justice) is on a quiet residential street with easy parking and is less than 5 minutes walk to a gateway to the old town and 15 minutes walk to the centre of the old town. It is very liberating to leave the car behind and just walk, which is the best way to see the city.
The pool, which is unheated, is perfect for an early morning swim before one of Sofia's breakfasts. If you are thinking should I, shouldn't I ... go for it - they are absolutely amazing, and change every day. Showcasing local specialities and surprising you with the variety. You will be set up for the day. I wish I had taken a picture!
We were sad to leave and will definitely be back.
