We visited Bruges on the 28th-30th December and must say is one of the most beautiful romantic cities i have visited. All lit up with christmas lights, the very pretty ice rink and the christmas markets, horse & carriages trotting down the small cobbled streets, friendly people, choclate, beer, lovely food and did not find it that expensive to eat and drink, even in the Main square.
If going in December the snow & ice sculpture festival by the main train station is worth a visit, amazing sculptures made of ice and at -6 dgerees take your gloves as even though we were wrapped up still was a bit chilly, this was priced at €11
as the weather was dry while we were there we just walked the streets stopping at anything that took our interest definately a city you want to get lost and you will find some little gems along the way.
only down fall is If you are going just for the christmas markets i was not that impressed there are 2 christmas markets, all the stalls consist of mainly food and hats, ive heard that cologne is better for their christmas makets and i thought that the christmas markets in winchester back home better for little christmassy things!
we had an amazing trip to Bruges and would go back tomorrow!
