“What a discovery”
Reviewed May 13, 2012

On the recommendation of our receptionist we went here for dinner. It was great, we got the seafood fondue which seemed to be the speciality with almost all the other diners having the same. A glass of prosecco is included in the set menu, the seafood was extremely fresh and the whole experience was incredible.

“Absolutely Wonderful”
Reviewed February 3, 2012

A fantastic restaurant tucked away from the touristy hustle and bustle of central Bruges. The walk along the canal to get there is well worth it - and the food was simply the best we had during our stay. They specialise is Fondue, but we tried the Gambas and the Steak too - both of which were faultless. Service was friendly, prompt and welcoming, and the surroundings were unquestionably authnetic Belgian - which is a welcome relief in this tourist hotspot. The Menu is small, which I see as a positive, and the beers were reasonably priced. The food is the same price as the touristy places (with their set meals etc) but infinitely better. I'll definitely visit again.

“A delightful discovery”
Reviewed January 26, 2012

This was a lovely discovery of a restaurant, a little off the beaten track, and found quite by chance.
The food was nothing exceptional, being centred around the fondue concept, be it with meat, fish or vegetables. However, what it was, was good quality and served in a delightfully relaxed atmosphere and pleasant restaurant.
Comment also should be made of the host, whose wife also works in the kitchen. His English was good, and he made sure our little 3 year old was the centre of attention when the food came, and gave the impression he was as worried about him having a good time, as the other guests in the restaurant, which was a generous touch and much appreciated.
A really nice place, with good food and a very warm welcome, cannot recommend it high enough.

“Nicest restaurant in Bruges”
Reviewed November 17, 2011

Went here on the say so of the B&B owner and we couldnt have wished for more. We had the fish platter to share and it was one of the best meals ive ever had. You cooked the fish yourself in broth and it was lovely. We were there for a good 3 hours. Wasnt cheap but not overly expensive. Give it a try and you wont be disappointed

“Quite nice”
Reviewed November 12, 2011

I think it was a Sunday and many places were closed..we were aiming for Nieuw Museum which is very close on same street, but it was closed. So, we wandered into De Nisse and were very pleasantly surprised. Fairly small, attractive atmosphere, and seemingly a locals place. Had a wonderful fish fondue; a hot pot of seasoned broth to cook a range of fresh tasty fish and prawns. Lovely vegetable accompaniment. Enjoyed it much. We were delighted with our meal. Only disappointment was a very limited beer menu, but fortunately they had the local Brugs Zot. All in all an excellent meal and nice atmosphere.
