“Once again, I am convinced that it is - today - the best Thai in the area.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2012

Several stays in Thailand (4 x 1 month) and experience in many Thai cuisines, abroad Thailand, have given me a quite "experience" of this cuisine, that I tend to call (very personal) "The Italian Cuisine from the Far East". I can recommend many Thai restaurants in the Brussels area like "Les Larmes du Tigre" or "Noi" or "Bois Savanes" or many others, but in Bruges, I do recommend the Sivalai Thai! If you want to test out the reality of a genuine honest Thai, ask for the Tom Yam Kung as a starter soup and let it follow by a "Laab Khai". Real connoisseurs will understand. Sivalai has it, besides the non pretentious set-up and a genuine friendly Thai service.

“Amazing food, Friendly host, lovely restaurant but SLOW SERVICE!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2012

The food was really lovely & resonably priced. The waiter was friendly and the decor was tasteful.

The service though? Super slow! One waiter for 50 people? You've got to be kidding! The waiter was running around like a mad man trying to keep up. People were left waiting & getting a bit frustrated. I am glad we were in no rush to go anywhere. Add a 2nd waiter and this place would be hard to fault. I think with the extra drinks ppl would order, the table turnover & the tempation to order more courses due to the efficiency would easily compensate for the expense of a 2nd waiter!

“Very nice food, and extremely friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2012

I took my wife and family here for dinner on my wifes birthday in january, following the great reviews on here. Im not sure i would say this is the best Thai food i have ever eaten, but it is good. The owner is a really nice guy who looked after us really well, he even sold me a bottle of thai whiskey, which is very hard to find. We had a great evening, with good food and very attentive service. I wold highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

“Thai food as good as any we have had”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2011

A little away from the main squares but this is not a bad thing. Easy to find close to the Ibis and Novotel hotels which are on the same street.
Initial impressions are excellent with a warm and welcoming greeting from the owner who acts as front of house. Decor is exceptional and authentic. The general facilities are superb as more importantly is the food which is cooked by the owners wife.
The menu is wide ranging and the food obviously freshly cooked
Wine choice was very good and overall we found the prices acceptable, especially in light of other experience in Bruges.
CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TOO HIGHLY. WORTH GOING TO BRUGES JUST TO VISIT IT.
