Owner description: Belgium is famous for its frites—and the Friet Museum gives visitors a chance to sample fried potatoes and various complementary sauces, as well as typical Belgian dishes such as meat balls and beef stew. Digest a bit of learning and history along with your food at this educational spot, housed in a building that dates back to the 14th century.

“Didn't like it at all.”

I can not believe we went there. We thought it would be funny to visit The Museum of fries, but it was so boring. On arrival we were told that we can buy fries when we leave but we won't able to sit down and eat them as they're waiting for a big party to come that have pre-booked the visit. Not welcoming at all.

“Not worth money without Bruges card but not without”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

Run down and needs updating. Little effort put in to it as an attraction. If had paid would be disappointed as not worth the money. On bruges card so glad saw it but there are other things to do if pushed for time, Chips were nice but not special and are extra.

“All from a humble spud!”

I couldn't believe there was so much to tell about the potato. The museum's chip shop stops serving at 1630 so if your planning to sample some fries be sure to leave plenty of time. Again a dual ticket will save money if you plan to do the chocolate museum as well.

“Did you realise you knew so little about chips?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013

Great little museum all about the history of the potato and chips, well French Fries, no sorry, Belgian Fries!

Informative, partly tongue in cheek, passed a great hour while it was raining and you get a lovely freshly cooked portion of chips at the end.

“Dull as dishwater. Chips not included”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2013 via mobile

In a city which has its train station ranked #16, you'd think any museum would have an easy time of it by comparison. Suffice it to say, this place makes the train station look like a great day out. The first half of the display is about potatoes, the next half about frying them. For €6, I expected the chips at the end to be included.
