After a few days in Bruges having sampled Flemish and Italian fare , this restaurant caught our eye and we chose it to celebrate our last night, a birthday night, here. It is important to book as the locals seem to like it. The saff were young and friendly, it turns out that they own the place having moved from Greece, and the food was probably the best Greek cuisine I have ever eaten.
Our party of 6 had meze, fish and chicken and it was all perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and served with a smile. The family made our special night even more special when , after the last guests left , they turned the music up , took requests and we danced away - One of our party even got behind the bar (with permission ) and made cocktails for all.
A great , spontaneous and unexpected evening.

Probably one of the best dining experiences in Bruges. The food was great quality and dishes were well prepared with fine ingredients. Service was friendly and fast; there was even live music. The food was good value based on Bruges prices, and unlike some places it didn't feel like they were trying to fleece you!

Glad we booked as this place was full by 8pm in low season. Very inviting atmosphere and welcoming staff. Excellent food - we had grilled swordfish and stuffed chicken and it was fantastic. Clearly made with fresh ingredients and attention to detail so do be prepared to wait a while but definitely worth it! Complimentary olives and dessert on the house was a nice touch. Overall, a perfect meal and good value (£25pp) compared to many of the other restaurants in Bruges.

It is amazing that this place appears to have so many good reviews, as our experience was awful. Last Saturday, we booked a table and turned up only to be ignored for 15 minutes before we decided to get up and leave. We were not even given a basket of bread or some olives - or offered a drink. There were 8 people in the restaurant in total - two of whom had already been served ! When we complained , the waiter didn't apologize, he just seemed cross and angry that we had the audacity to question his service ! Most unpleasant - maybe, due to their success, they are now feeling rather self important ? We went back to The restaurant we went to the previous night, and it was Great and friendly with quick service, even though it was almost full and only two waiters ! Never again.

This is a family-run restaurant in the heart of Bruges that serves incredible Greek food. The atmosphere, first off, is really nice. It's quite a small restaurant and was pretty busy when we got there at 6:30 (they open at 6). Very cozy and welcoming.

As for the food, I can easily say that it's some of the best I've ever eaten. I had the chicken souvlaki, which was perfectly seasoned and grilled. It came with tzatziki that was so good I had to ask for more - better even than the tzatziki I had when I was in Greece. This was accompanied by potatoes, rice, and bread. Following the meal we were brought a delicious Greek semolina cake - which was given to everyone after their meals - made by his mother. It was heavenly. He was also nice enough to bring us each a shot of some sort of Greek liqueur, on the house! Not ouzo, thankfully :)

The owners are so lovely and really topped off the experience. I would return in a heartbeat. Actually, if truth be told, I would like to bring his mother home to cook for me! (I did ask, but unfortunately she isn't a fan of the cold and snow...).

Bruges isn't a cheap city to eat in, but we found that the prices were fair for the portion sizes and excellent quality. If you eat anywhere in Bruges, make it 'The Olive Tree.'
