We went for the fixed price menu and it was absolutely delicious. Traditional Flemish cuisine. The waitress was super helpful and friendly, the place was cosy, and the atmosphere relaxed.

It was our first night in Bruges so we booked in advanced. Glad we did as people were turned away and it was only a Tuesday evening.

We arrived early evening and were able to get a table quite easily. Meal was delicious. Desserts were ordered, one the Bruges Swan and one Creme Brulee which arrived at table flaming. Well worth at least one trip as it is pricey and be prepared to wait for service as it does get very busy.

My husband and I made a reservation at Bistro den Huzaar earlier in the day on a Saturday, and we were really glad we did. There were many locals who had also made reservations and throughout the course of the evening, we saw people turned away because the restaurant was full. The restaurant offers set menus which are very good value for what you get. The portions are really big, so don't stuff yourself on the bread beforehand. The one downside is that the food is very rich and would've been better to eat on a cold winter day rather than at the end of the summer.

We visited for lunch and received a very warm welcome.

The Coq Au Vin (breast and leg) and the pork cheeks with a pastry top were delicious. The side dishes too were lovely.

If we hadn't been going out for a meal in the evening we would have had a dessert.

Excellent in every way.
