“Very good Belgian restaurant run by a couple who know what they are doing”
Reviewed March 28, 2013 via mobile

We ate at the Couvert twice during a 4 day stay round the corner at the (excellent) Pand Hotel. The Couvert is run by a couple who both do their respective jobs very well. Good ingredients; good combination of flavours; as efficiently served as one person could do in a restaurant of c20 covers; good house wines; nice decor; friendly and welcoming. The set dinner with wine for €49 is particularly good value.

“Fine cooking”
Reviewed March 15, 2013 via mobile

Very quiet Monday in the snow only six customers. Host was polite and kind but not particularly 'warm and friendly' needs to be more 'outgoing' - set menu with wines was faultless in cooking and good value. Needs more ambience but food excellent.

“Don't rush!”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

Great little intimate restaurant. Only about 20 covers. It is run by the chef and his wife and they only do one sitting, so be ready to have a long leisurely meal. The food was of excellent quality and there was a good wine list, including a good number of decent wines available by the half bottle. Definitely recommended for foodies.

“We would return to Bruges just for this restaurant - 5* dining”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Without a doubt one of the best meals I have ever had. This restaurant is intimate and romantic, the service is impeccable and the food simply divine. The menu is small - always a good sign - there are about 5 choices for each course.

I had fish goujons to start, other choices included wild mushrooms on toast and seared foie gras. For main I had venison which was amazing. Other choices were fillet steak and hare. For pudding I had chocolate mousse there was also raspberry sorbet and creme brûlée. The quality of the food is excellent and you can tell it has been prepared and cooked with care.

We had champagne and two bottles of wine with dinner and our bill for 4 people came to around £450 which we thought was great value for the food and experience.

I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough and we can't wait to return.
