We discovered this hidden but quiet little place by accident while wandering on the most narrow street of Bruges - Stoofstraat. Had a quick look from the outside and decided on spot to stretch our legs beneath one of the small tables we saw inside this French restaurant. From the entrance we could not see very good the restaurant but adventured a bit deeper and found our spot. The restaurant is very small, typically French, having old pictures of the Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez - Louis Defunes and other famous actors and artists.
Our main course options were beef with vegetable and assiette malesherbes and had for desert tourtiere des Landes aux pruneaux. Food was accompanied by a very good house vine recommended by the ladies which were attentive with our requests and provided us on spot with English menus. The service was very good; the food was delicious and well seasoned and good looking. Would be better to discover it yourself! Bonne Apetit!

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of eating at Malsherbes during a recent trip to Bruges. We had scanned through the Top 10 restaurants (according to TripAdvisor of course!) and had decided Malsherbes would be where we would try. When we initially got there we were told that they were fully booked that night but they'd be more than happy to book us in for the following night, so we did.

We weren't disappointed, we were looked after incredibly well without feeling intruded upon by the waiting staff and the food was exceptional. We both ate form the specials board and both thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

When we arrived at the restaurant and took our seats and chatted with the staff it became obvious why they had been unable to fit us in the night before. This is a charming little restaurant in the narrowest of Bruges' side streets and as such only caters for about 12 covers every night, they only do one sitting (so their guests do not feel rushed) so it really does have the atmosphere of having been invited into someone's house for the evening... We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Some people seem to have marked this place down because they have been unable to cater for large parties or spur of the moment arrivals... If you need this then maybe you should try something a little bit more mainstream? This place is an absolute gem and a credit to Bruges!!!

I saw a couple of negative reviews but the good ones outnumbered by 100 to 1, so I went for it....two days on the trot! The boss hasn't got a bad bone in her, multi-lingual and very funny and extremely polite. The food was delicious and great wine at a reasonable price. The food was excellent and all in all, a wonderful
experience.

Not often did I enjoy such an intimate, delicious and pleasant meal.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful small street and gives an atmosphere like which I have seldom enjoyed so much.
The service was professional and carrying.
The quality of the meal was extraordinary down to the last detail, not to mention the wine...
A bit pricy, but when you finish the meal you will see it is worth it!
