Have never felt more out of place and unwelcomed as at Koto. We were told that the Japanese restaurant was fully booked all evening (although it was practically empty) so had to go to the Italian side. Took 10 minutes just to get a menu - and service was slow and disinterested all night. Waiter was incredibly rude and hostile when we ordered a side of chips saying that "all English are the same with the chips - do you want some vinegar on them?". Why put it on the menu if you resent serving it? If they hadn't already put our coats in the cloakroom I would have walked out. Kept waiting and ignored every time he came into our side of the restaurant and then openly insulted. Food was also completely mediocre.
