We arrived at the Gruuthuse Hof at around 5.30pm to be told food service did not start until 6. However the Waiter/Manager was quite happy for us to take a table and have a drink while we waited. And very glad we were that we did!
We both opted for the "Tourist Menu" at 16.80 Euros. We both had soup to start, then I had half a roast chicken and my wife went for the salmon steak. For dessert it was profiteroles for her and I had the ice cream.
The food was excellent from start to finish, as was the service.
With 3 glasses of red wine and two of orange juice the whole bill came in at 50 euros, so value too!
One word of warning, the place filled up very quickly, and we did see several people turned away so get in early or book.
