Once upon a long ago, you could go to De Lange Muur when you were really hungry and were on a low budget. Those times are long gone - small portions are your share now, as well as expensive drinks. Forget the fact that you're being served by people who obviously don't want to be there (and by extension don't want you to be there, either) - there are other and much better Chinese restaurants in Bruges. I've been there 3 times now, and until they change their policy & staff again, they won't see me again.

Our family of 7 (parents + kids ages 6, 8, and 10 from Seattle + 2 adult cousins from the Netherlands) ate here in early August 2012.

The food tastes OK, but the portions are small and very expensive. We were charged 3.80E for each springroll!

Service is awful - we waited over 30 minutes between courses and had to hunt down the waiter to bring and refill drinks.

The food quality was very average and the quantity rather small. Based on this the price was not appropriate and it felt like a rip-off. We often visit chinese restaurants in many countries and have seen much better value for money in expensive cities like London or New York. Service was slow, but acceptable while the ambiente is quite alright. All in all, avoid this restaurant!

This large clean friendly chinese restaurant serves authentic chinese dishes (Btw: a rice table is definitely NOT chinese but an invention of the Dutch colonials in Indonesia who wanted to have a lot of small dishes with their meals, so is a concession to what Europeans think about eastern cuisine), they have a more limited authentic chinese-english menu - leaving out the non authentic dishes - where I would recommend you choose from. The fact that chinese and japanese and other Eastern tour groups book their meals here must mean something, because these people are quite discreminating in their taste.
A 500 - 600 grams lobster, steamed with garlic and ginger, the best way to prepare it, costs only € 33,- and is quite delicious, so are steamed coquilles St. Jacques.
The cook is from Vietnam, where many ethnic Chinese live, the owner from Fuzhou in Fujian provence, China.
The people speak dutch and english, one server speaks malay, all speak mandarin, and some chinese dialects like cantonese, hokkian (fujian) and wenzhou dialect.
