Great bar, food looked good too and not overpriced. A good little find by the park away from the hustle and bustle. Staff were fun too.

“Great bar which serves food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

Stopped off for a couple of beers on the way to a restaurant one evening so didn't eat here. However lots of other people did and the food looked very good - simple pasta type dishes mainly. It is situated close to the Fishmarket and on the edge of Astrid park. Great range of beer and it has an outside sitting area to the front overlooking the park. Inside is a typical "brown Cafe" with a great atmosphere. Worth seeking out.

“So-so Service & Interesting Menu”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

We went for lunch and had trouble getting the waitress/bartender's attention (as she was eating her own lunch and chatting with friends at the bar in between serving everyone). We ordered a chili con carne and a hamburger-not the usual Belgian food. It was good and the beer was affordable. The inside area was dark and cozy, while the outdoor enclosed patio was bright and hot (they had heaters on for some reason on a sunny day...we sat inside to be a little cooler).

“Best Spaghetti EVER!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

Thankfully, despite a tour book recommendation that it was more locals than tourists, it was still more locals than tourists! Go when they are busy and spend the whole evening like the Europeans do! Be sure to watch the non-stop action of the does-it-all bartender while you wait for a table. Our waitress was outstanding and super patient translating & explaining the menu to us. And, the vegetarian spaghetti was the best we'd ever tasted - baked in the oven...Mmmm my mouth waters thinking of it! A lovely memory of a leisurely dinner with traveling companions after a full day of sightseeing, in a charming locale. Can't beat good food & good friends! Prices were good. Be warned, they recently switched over to only accepting credit cards with the chip! (No PIN necessary yet though).

“Off the beaten path”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2013

Good onion soup and cheese sandwiches that come with unlisted salad. If you sit outside on the porch, take a peek inside. Old Bruges at its best with the usual wide range of beers. Blonde is usually a lighter brew good for lunch.
