L'Estaminet was recommended to us by the owner of our b&b when we asked for a typically Belgian, "local's" pub/restaurant for lunch. We were not disappointed. It's a bit like stepping back in time! Dark, atmospheric, with a very friendly efficient waitress who took time to explain the menu, which is in Flemish.
The food is basic, huge portions and very hearty! Can recommend the fish soup, which was delicious.
Worth mentioning is their good selection of beer, excellent music (if you like blues and rock from the sixties and seventies), and very reasonable prices.
Not fine dining, but a very pleasant way to while away a few hours on a cold Bruges afternoon...
